Because it has been told here many times they went to interview and nothing was there from NVC so delay of person having to get all new documents. The photocopies you gave is so they will give back originals (be sure to ask for those at interview).

Now to explain, YES you do get a stamp in passport at POE that also should verify you are now a LPR (Legal Permanent Resident) and you can go get a job, get drivers license all that.

Unfortunately many places in US are stupid and not educated on immigration things and immigrants and documents. Many places even employers I have read have been known to refuse employment for lack of a physical green card. Or refuse even a SS card because you have no green card. Like how dumb are they!!

Personally I would tell everyone to just pay the fee before you leave for the US and once you land and the CBP checks you in at the airport that kicks off production of your card. It should arrive in 3 to 8 weeks (usually like 3 t 5 weeks).

You will be given instructions when you pick up your Visa (or the embassy gives, not sure). You will be set to go.

Okay they don't always update every thing. I wouldn't rely heavily on what the website says. If they said they send it should be there in 5 to 7 days. Sometimes NVC updates sometimes the embassy. Just relax you are almost there.

i was told by a representative at the NVC yesterday when i called and he told me that my petition is in transit but whenever i check the CEAC website i see it is still at the nvc not in transit...is this normal ?

Call them you might be able to get an earlier interview

now my interview is April 9 and that is a suitable time for me and the paper works i am going just to leave it as it is lol
