  1. Congratulations SqdnGuns  There should be an agency that we should

able to file a complain these kind of agents!

Maybe the Dateline guy should use his hidden cameras in POE locations and

show why immigration chain is broken!

We did have our interview today and I woke up around 1:45am to a great suprise with

my wife's txt for her approval. She said CO was a very nice

person. So they do have nice people too.

Lots of Congratulations all the approvals

One question: Do they send the envelope for POE with the passport since she

has not received any enclosed envelope after the interview?

Wife and son finally made it home Thursday evening. Flight landed at 8:30 PM but she did not clear Immigration until midnight. The first two agent she dealt with in immigration were a$holes, she was pi$ed at them. Both were Filipino and they were talking ####### about her in Tagalog, they had no idea that she understands Tagalog, she learned quite a bit when she stayed with me in the Philippines when I worked there.

Long story short, she approached another Immigration Officer and he was very accommodating. When she was leaving the immigration office at LAX, she made a comment to the two Filipino Immigration Officers in Tagalog, they were horrified she could speak Tagalog. Wished I could have seen their faces!! My wife don't take sh!t from anyone, makes me proud!!

Good luck to rest of you!!

We should receive her 10 year Green card soon as well as her Social Security card.

  2. Thanks and Best Wishes to unite with your husband ASAP

    They asked him,

How we met, where we met,how we communicated, how often we communicated, where I worked,my age and asked him to see our pictures. That's it.

Good luck to you and keep in mind that, they don't ask everybody same questions.I am Turkish-American and my husband is Turkish,we both speak same language. Again,Good luck with your interview!

  3. Nice to know that B-)

I did it nearly a week ago, and was plannign for getting an extension for the state

since they are claiming 8-10 weeks for ITIN.

Did you go to the local IRS office or just send it directly to Austin?

BTW I did my return already, filed married filing jointly, W7 without using passport (I used birth certificate and voter ID). Got ITIN number in 2 weeks and refund in 2 weeks after that. I already requested transcript for the interview.

  4. CONGRATS Xelance

Great News  Enjoy it fully

hahahahha thanks Saylin!!!! I need that dancing carlton from celldoc, now that would complete it ! Amazing how perfect the day went, I guess frontloading at the USCIS stage really does work. They had all of our photos, everything..they asked us VERY basic questions, and said congratulations, you are approved! The woman who interviewed us was so nice and personable, we really lucked out :)

  5. As long as you send the original, you may choose to add the translation if you prefer.

But as operator has told you since the interview will be in Turkey, no need

    for translation.

He has to sign part 1 of DS-230, you can fill the rest for him but he has to get the

old necessary documents. But beneficiary(he) fills DS-230 and you fill I-864.

So can we send in the copy of the translation with the original marriage certificate? Thanks a lot!

  6. Congrats all past and today's expedites

Just talked with the operator, she said we are denied for expedite request!

Our case CC yesterday, I was asked for an early interview date with email on monday.

But seems like expedite is not for every USCIS veteran

The embassy will contact your spouse via snail mail, email, or both. NVC is killin' me.... Expedite approved around the 22nd and they just shipped it today :ranting: Oh well... it left Florida at 1545 today. Hopefully the Consulate will receive it and input it before the end of the week.

  7. You should call and ask your state tax office but I don't think

it is a good idea to send the original passport to IRS even on Federal

But state do not give ITIN so you cannot send state as you stated unless

    I am missing something!

Since there is a different mailing address for the federal return from the state return, should you make an extra copy of the W7 to go with the state return? If you attach the passport with the original W7 to the federal return, what would you attach to your state return?

  8. Wade:

Great work on the article, and My Best wishes for your family.

    Hindustani24:

after reading ur post I tried, and

Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time. Please contact the National Visa Center if you believe that you have received this message in error.

so I guess I got SIF too

    SIF

Hope its not some technical mistake at NVC :bonk:

  9. If you gonna amend, maybe you should consider waiting for your wife come here and

get SS# and then file teh amendment!

I am not sure, You should call/ask IRS whether you can request ITIN with amendment?

i did the mistake ( I regret taking the advice from my tax preparer) and filed single, right now am waiting for my wife to send her docs so that I can apply for the ITIN, eventually I do the tax amendment before her day of interview! What is the hassle I should expect with the amendment??? help please, am nervous

  10. I did have Apostille certified copy of my wifes passport. Instead of sending it directly

I chose to go to the local office since once they accept I know it is Ok instead of waiting 10 weeks! Los Angeles office is full of uneducated staff and

many hardly works so very long lines! took more than 2 hours and one old staff claimed he

is an expert on this subject and claimed the only way to do is to bring the original passaport! I tried to show him sentences from the ITIN booklet he throw at me but he did not listen nor read!

This morning I went to Long Beach branch, much better experience, no lines and very

helpful staff and they accepted it. They gave a questinaire about my experience and I

complained about LA branch. I am also thinking sending and raising issues about LA

branch, LA office is a third country style, run by total idiots and they hardly do

any work and there is long long lines!

I couldn't notarize my wife passport in US since she is not allowed to come here.

It is good to be a Canadian

What did you take with you? Did you take a notarized copy of the passport with W7? I sent my 1040 with a notarized copy of my wifes passport that was notarized here in the U.S., W7 and 2555 all attached to the back side of the 1040 and mailed it to Texas. When you file your 1040 you don't need an ITIN. You can just file and request for ITIN at the same time.

  11. The problem is that Local irs staff is very uneducated! So if they know Hague

    convention that maybe a miracle!

at least LA IRS claims they do not accept Apostille certified

passport so try a different location since IRS web page claims they should:

    http://www.irs.gov/businesses/small/international/article/0,,id=96690,00.html

You may find the country list in one of the links.

I did search on internet and I saw several sites that said Republic of Georgia was in the Hague Convention then I saw other sites where it wasn't listed..

I did the IRS ITIN with a passort that was notarized in Georgia.. I can't remember if was Apostled or not.. I just wanted to know of a valid site that list the countries..

  12. Has anybody had any issues with local IRS agents not accepting Apostille and

requesting the real passport for Tax!

I went to LA local IRS and first champ accepted but some fat old fart

claimed that he does this thing last 15 years and only a real passport

accepted! And diclined to discuss it with me even though I tried to show him

sentences in the booklet he gave me!

Anybody with a similiar experience or this LA office is full of uneducated staff!

I will try another office tomorrow, or shoudl sent it to Austin directly!

I thought local IRS is better but my experience so far after two visits

is worst than visiting the hell!

Is anybody have experience how can I file a complain for the staff in LA local IRS?

You guys are so good that you must know how to do this

"Applicants should complete Form W-7 for 2010 and attach their supporting documents (I-20, passport and I-94) and take to an IRS Acceptance Agent or provide the completed Form W7 along with certified or notarized copies of their I-20, passport and visa pages and I-94. Form W-7 and the certified or notarized copies of their documents must now be attached to your federal tax return."

Nowhere on the instructions does it say that form W7 has to be notarized- only documents that accompany the form (passport, driver license, birth certificate, etc) have to be notarized. The standalone form does not need to be taken to a notary.

  13. After IV payment will show payed, and after documents will be sent to NVC we will ask an expedite based on what you asked. Hope that this will work for us to.

Thanks a lot Tina.Benoy, and best of luck in Madras

Is that the best time to ask for expedite?

I asked... and even threw in the "active duty military" card too.... NADA !!!

Did you ask on the phone? I have tried but the operator said they don't do expedites!

But maybe email is the charm :star:
