As far as I know, sending the packages in separate or together doesn't make a difference. If it does, I need someone to explain to me why that would.
As for myself, it's kind of impossible for me to send both packages at the same time since I'm doing EP. I can't exactly put them in the same envelope
I just realized after the post that you do it electronically
But why Darnell made that comment then?
-
Hey Guys,
I was just wondering, at the NVC stage is there any advantage in waiting to send the DS-230 along with the I-864 together, or should you send them in separately? I just read some varying points so I'm wondering if there is actually time saved if you send everything together. Any insight will be appreciated!
Not sure but
http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/298115-aos-and-iv-fee/page__gopid__4515267#entry4515267
has the same discussion!
-
I'm hoping this week, but you never know with NVC
Saylin,
I am not sure I undertood correctly but Darnell seem to suggest
sending AOS and DS_230 together after IV fee PAID:
http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/298115-aos-and-iv-fee/page__gopid__4515267#entry4515267
First time I saw this and I am too late! But that may explain your delay too,
hoping this is not true though
-
ya, can pay online.
Strongly suggest you not submit anything past the ds-3032 , until the IV fee bill is marked 'paid'
and then submit all together to the IV address - this will actually shave off 2 to 3 weeks of time at NVC.
Darnell,
So you are saying that sending AOS and DS-230 separate will cause a delay
Bummer! I have just send AOS yesterday, I can't take it back and still no
IV fee is even genarated that I can pay
I hoping you are not right

Hi there, my husband (the UKC) was the one who made the trip here to the States. He said it was really quick and easy. It went something like this:
CBP officer: "What the purpose of your trip?"
Husband: "I'm visiting family."
CBP: "Where are you staying?"
H: "I'm staying with my wife."
CBP: "Is your wife a US citizen?"
H: "Yes."
CBP: "What does she do?"
H: "She's a teacher."
CBP: "Do you plan to emigrate to the United States?"
H: "Yes, we're in the middle of the visa process right now."
He also asked what he does, to which my husband replied that he recently graduated and is looking for a job. He then asked to see his return ticket and also asked for my address. After that, he pretty much just stamped his passport, put an expiration date on the entry stamp, and let him through.
Just another note for flying through Dublin: my husband took a Ryanair flight from Leeds to Dublin, and when he checked in at Delta (in Dublin), they asked a few questions that were similar to what the CBP officer asked. They also asked why he was flying from Dublin, and he said that the flight tickets were cheaper (which they were, because I was buying the tickets and the exchange rate is better from USD to the Euro than to the GBP), and they asked when he arrived in Dublin and wanted to see his Ryanair ticket.
Overall, it was very easy (easier than when he visited last year before we got married). He had all of our USCIS correspondence with him as well as a letter of financial support from me and a copy of my bank statement, but they didn't ask to see any of that. I think at this stage in the process, it really shouldn't be too difficult, since it's clear that we're fully invested in the visa process. I hope that helps, and good luck!
Good Job
Did he have a turist visa?
I used to think immigrant spouse using turist visa during I-130 process can complicate things
and he may get rejected on the port of entry.

Great to be hearing most of us are moving up the ranks of NVC! My IV fee took like a week to be generated after I paid the AOS. NVC told me to wait for an email last night, and I had it this morning, went to the payment portal and that lovely $404 fee was waiting for me
Lovely fees
Thanks for the info TSC Blackhole
AOS and DS-230 are two different tracks. How many days after DS-3032 acceptance
did you get the IV fee? I think it should take a day or two? at least I hope
-
Hi,
IV fee still not generated, hoping soon so that we could finally move on:)
So we are in the same boat
Your email has a mention of I-864 which our don't! Did you paid AOS fee yet?
-
no idea why I got that message...but I am guessing it is because nothing had been processed in my case, besides the case number. Anyways, I sent it again and that should work...if not, I will have to mail it.
Xelance, you are right teh process is crazy but I think it seem to be some period
or some action needs to be taken by NVC to accept DS-3032!I got NVC# thursday and
send it friday, you did it within the couple of hours which may be
the difference, but clearly the process has many bugs!
According all info I have read so far once DS-3032 is accepted, IV fee is generated
but clearly that is not simultenous event too
-
HUH? how come you received that kind of message xalance?
here's mine:
ear Sir/Madam:
Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).
We received the principal applicant's DS-3032 (Choice of Address and Agent) form designating an address and agent. Instructions for paying the immigrant visa application processing fee and all future correspondence will be sent to the agent at the address selected on the DS-3032.
For more information regarding the immigrant visa application fee or for answers to frequently asked questions, please visit the following website:
http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3904.html
A packet containing the Affidavit of Support (I-864) Processing Fee Invoice has been sent to the petitioner or attorney of record. The payment due amount listed on the invoice must be paid according to the instructions.
You must visit the Department of State's website: www.ImmigrantVisas.State.Gov, Fee Collection, to pay the required processing fees on-line. You will need your case number and invoice ID number to properly pay your fee.
Payers who are unable to pay online must follow the alternate payment instructions. Go to the above website and click the Collection” link, then the “Alternative Payment Method” link, and follow the directions displayed.
Once the payment is received and processed, you will be given instructions on how to download the instruction packets and the appropriate forms on-line. The instruction packets and forms will not be sent to you by the NVC if your payment is made on-line. You will need to mail the appropriate forms to the NVC in order to complete your immigrant visa processing. Please follow the instructions provided to you by the website.
If a period of one year passes from the last date of contact with the NVC (by email, telephone or mail), all submitted fees and documents will expire. In that case, your fees will need to be repaid and documents will need to be resubmitted in order to continue the immigration process.
cutiezoe,
my wife has received the same one! However no IV fee is generated, is yours
generated just after this email or still waiting?
-
what the hell is this?? I got this response today after I emailed the DS-3032 on friday...this sucks.
Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).
The NVC is unable to process the designation of an agent for this case at this time.
This petition is now eligible for further processing. The petitioner, beneficiary and/or attorney of record will receive an Instruction Package regarding further processing of the petition.
If a period of one year passes from the last date of contact with the NVC (by email, telephone or mail), all submitted fees and documents will expire. In that case, your fees will need to be repaid and documents will need to be resubmitted in order to continue the immigration process.
Interesting, mine has been accepted from friday! my wife received the acceptance email
for DS-3032 and just forwarded to me! They did not send it to me.
However no IV fee is generated still! Every step has its own tricks!
Send it again, and Congrats all new NVC#s and AOS fees payers
-
nope, no response from NVC, and I sent it the same day. I wouldnt send it again..I have heard it can take up to a week or more for them to respond.
Xelance,
The reason I am thinking so is that I have sent DS-3032 friday but got the
NVC email regarding to DS-3032 creation yesterday! All original NVC documents
are mentioning that sending it before it has been generated may not work!
Of course many of those regarding to normal snail mail, so maybe I should wait
a little!
Does anybody know whether sending DS-3032 email second time may cause a problem?
-
yesterday around 3:30 PM EST
Mine too yesterday 3:30 EST or noon PST.
Is anybody who have sent DS-3032 since friday get any response from NVC?
I am thinking maybe I should send again
-
Guys, I have another question- I'm looking at a sample DS-230 form and I see that on question #20 that asks about addresses, the sample form doesn't have "present" as the "to" date. For my husband he has his current address dates as "08/1995" to "Present." I thought that was the correct way to fill it out...?
Yes and also make sure that you fill the latest form which the question
mentioned above is #30
-
I am not sure this AVR stuff works anymore! Mine still says NVC# is assigned!
It is a dump question but is the end of NVC zip code for AOS:
03801-2914 or 03801-2909 ?
I searched 20 minutes in visajourney and still have no idea which one is correct
My case was only considered EP on Feb 17, more than 2 weeks after I got a case number and paid my bills. So, no, EP wouldn't have made a difference at the beginning.
Thanks Saylin
-
I never received any emails about paying bills. As soon as my husband saw them available, he paid. Didn't wait.
Saylin,
Thanks for the quick answer.
Can Electronic Filing be the difference?
Finally today I received my first email from NVC
It is a little annoying not to get it immediately! Good Luck to all waiters.
Xelance will be next
-
yup, still SIF. I am in the same boat as you, able to log in up until this morning. It seems it only works when you get the email from NVC with all the info. Nothing to worry about, we will get our emails tomorrow
Best of Luck for all people made it to NVC stage
Is the below statement is still correct for paying IV fee?
"Do not pay the IV Fee Bill until you have received the bill, via email, from NVC. If you have not received an email within 1-2 days (after it displays as available to be paid), contact NVC to ensure the bill is ready to be paid."
Not that I have a IV fee to pay, but this process is so full of pot holes
that I am tring to prepare
-
I wish that is right ..i wonder how is hindustani24 was shipped on feb18 as the same day of mine .and got his no and paid his AOS. i was shipped at the same day..and other people too thats just one example
They also told me 5-6 weeks but gets into the system in couple days.
Just call tomorrow, late is better since no wait and talk to operator.
You will get it this week. Prepare and send your DS-3032 email meanwhile.
Guys, do you right NVC case number on upper right with PEN or PENCIL?
-
but what should i do? should i cut the barcode and paste it to the generic DS-3032 form i have or should i just print the barcoded page and attach that page with the generic DS-3032 signed by my wife and send?
Search visajourney: I have seen people suggested cuting and gluing on DS-3032, but not
attaching it since it may create a problem inside envelope.
-
well, thats strange...were all of your cases entered on February 25th, or the 24th according to the AVR??
Xelance, yours should be there today ot tomorrow, but if you have time,
give them a call. Mine is entered on 24th.
Hindustani24, majority people sends both paper and email version of DS-3032.
So send it. My paper version is still over Atlantic so I can't
-
Can I trust the AVR? Approved on 17 and no case number for me.
Call NVC Operator, generally after 10pm EST is the easiest!
-
Paid AOS Fee
Congrats to all the AOS fee payers today
I received got 2 emails from them 2 hours ago, and
finally able to login and paid AOS fee
Not sure my earlier call to NVC has anything to do with it!
Do you think my DS-3032 email from Friday will be accepted, or
should send it again?
-
So Here is my understanding..
Link 1 :-
https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx
This is where you can log and check your status. If you are eligible to sent DS-3032 , you should be able to log in this link. If you cannot log in here and the above error, thats means its not ready to accept your DS-3032.
Link 2 :- https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/signon.aspx
This is where you pay the Fees. If you are getting the above message here, it means your Invoice is not ready. Just wait for some more time.
Again this is my understanding. I could be wrong. But I think it makes sense !!!
Babaa
I can login to 1 since friday but never able to login to 2!
Is (1) ever useful after DS-3032 stage?
You are probably right, but all documatation says that DS-3032 and AOS fee generated
at the same time, I guess that thing is not right at least for some chosen
unlucky ones
-
That is really f'ed up. It shouldn't take 1-2 weeks. It should appear within 3 business days. What is going on?
Too many USCIS approvals may have overloaded NVC!
And they know we have high tolerance for wait as hindustani24 mentioned
-
Yes that's the right website.
For all of you that have been getting fake SIFs, have any of you tried calling an operator to see what's up? Cause it only seems to be you guys getting these fake SIFs and not anyone else. Just find it really odd...
Saylin,
I called and after 15 minutes of wait, operator told me that they just started
processing these and it may take 1-2 weeks for AOS generated! I also
demand expedate and got NADA! So practically it may start working tomorrow
or 2 weeks later, who knows! Hope works tonite
At least operator told me that sending DS-3032 is okey now!
