  1. Good Luck getting a malpractice suit on the immigration cases. :ot: It will cost you more to sue, than to just do it yourself! Lawyers, :P take risk yes, but rarely do they get disbared or sanctioned.

    :devil::rofl:

  2. LMAO!

lol...you did the same thing as me. I got a phone number from the air port security chick (uniform with skirt, heels and hat...totally hot) right after I landed in Minsk the first time.

Ahhhhhh...what was the Barbara Streisand song???.....Memories..... :innocent::whistle::devil: Ok you two, quit making me remember! I am now a reformed man and looking forwad to the one. :innocent::rofl:

  3. So you went to Ukraine 29 times... for leisure?

Didn't you also go to Russia something like 7 times as well?

I gotta ask - how can you afford to do that?

My boss took me to Russia the first time, to me his then fiance in 2003. He wanted me to find an interest in a Russian woman. Who knew I would get addicted. My first experience in Russia wasn't all that good, but I liked the history and the people, so my next trip was the Ukraine. That was it for me. I loved the Ukraine!!!! The women were all really nice to me and I was in heaven, so I thought. Then came the realization that some of the women will play games with you and some are just wasting your time. But I still loved it!!!! I learned about the culture, what the women really wanted, as opposed to what they tell you, and I learned about all the not so serious women in the Ukraine and Russia. All in all, it was a great experience and since I was single, young, no children, why not go to the Ukraine and enjoy the beauty of the Ukranian people. :innocent:

I make a good living and I use to work for an international company up until 4 weeks ago. So I was able to travel a lot and just had to buy the ticket to connect from Europe. Plus going in the winter time is cheaper and I had a lot of friends who I stayed with, so cost were down. It's not for everyone, but it was definitely for me! I just came back from Russia 4 weeks ago after seeing Olya. Yes, I have been to Russia now 7 times. I never thought a Russian woman would be the one, especially after all my trips to the Ukraine, but Olya is a diamond and I would not trade her for anyone else.:thumbs: Anyway, I am sure people have very interesting stories about their journeys to FSU countries. Mine started with my former boss and never stopped in 8 years. It's been great and I have met some very good friends, even here, I have very good Russian and Ukrainian friends. Some people choose vacation in the states, I chose vacation in the Ukraine. And I have many interesting photos to prove it!

  4. I would too... but I don't think I could stay single after the third or fourth time over there.

In all honesty, I would not be married if I lived there, but I loved all my time spent there. It was all for leisure. I met some friends there, dated some women and actually had one come to live with me, but it didn't work out. Long story on that one, but it was good that it happend. Now I am truly happy with Olya and I have great memories of the Ukraine! Because I spent so much time in the Ukraine, I was able to understand the women better and know when I met the right woman for me. I never thought I would find her in Russia!!! But my journey began in Russia, it is fitting that it ends there.

  5. Another question, specific to Russia.

My fiancee has a minor child. As we applied for k1 visa, the child's name was entered in the i-128F form. I did some research on this site regarding the parental permission needed for the interview.

It is my understanding that the divorced parents share equal custody of the child, and some posts suggest that my fiancee will need to obtain court authorization to take the child to the US. However some sites suggest that K1 is not the immigrant visa and no permission is required. In other words, we should not expect an embassy worker to ask for the parental permission.

Also, should my fiancee obtain a sole custody order prior to the interview?

I am not an expert, but I know some of my friends who had similar situation like you. They needed to get either the father's permission or have a court order to leave with the minor child. Hopefully someone with more direct experience can answer your question. I only have limited knowledge on this. Sorry.

  6. There is some truth to Barons555 words, with respect to some of the hispanic population. But I will say in general learning two or more languages as a child will not hurt you one bit, with repsect to mastering the English language. I for one am a bilingual person, whose parents spoke only French when they came to the USA. My English is stronger than most native English speaking people, but my first language was French and I am fluent in both languages. Children will adapt more so than adults and I myself will want my children to speak Russian. Some close friends of mine have their children speak both Russian and English and the kids have a complete master of both languages. I would not worry one bit, teach them Russian.

I don't believe Baron was saying no to learning more than one language, I think he was just refering to what he has experienced. Just my 2 cents.

  7. Hi Johhny.. I am sitting right now in a flat in Kiev. This is my third visit in 10 months.

Here is my take on your questions. Flush the toilet paper. Stay away from public toilets when ever possible. Worst men's room in the world can be found at the Kiev zoo!

Perfume has always worked for me. Flower a nice touch if it lasts the trip. (My Elena and I are now engaged and pending the K-1 Visa so end results very positive!)

Elena and I have been many times to the main shopping street Ulitsa Khreschatyk and you can spend a lot of time there. Lots of stores, restaurants etc.. Try and get to some of the parks along the river. The churches are numerous and magnificent. You'll spot a few McDonalds to make you feel at home although I took Elena there and she has decided it poison! (Probably right)

Not too many Dockers around... black chinos or blue jeans in the majority. Lots of black and darker colors. If you wear bright clothes you'll stick out like s sore thumb. Watch out for the cabs. No meters and everything is negotiable. They can smell an American a mile away. Airport into the city should be about 130 Grivna and shorter hops in the city about 35 to 50 Grivna.

Well that is the short take... have fun. Kiev is a GREAT city. I will be back in late April! David (and Elena)

I agree Johnny with the comments above. I been the Ukraine 29 times. Love It!!! From Borispoyl it cost about 240 hrivna, unless you get a local to negotiate the price down. The centre has some nice cafes to eat. Stay away from McDonalds!!!!! Enjoy the local cuisine and the blinchik. I always bring purfume and by flowers there. A good bottle of J'adore she will love! You have to put it with your checked baggage if it doesn't fit in your plastic bag. The Marshutka is a cheap way to get around, if you care to experience the town like th elocals. :-) Anyway, have a great time! I wish I was going back, but my girl now is Russian and I don't think she would approve anymore. :innocent:

  8. Today, I got the text and checked my email. I think I stared at the USCIS "Post Decision" dot for 30 minutes in a trance. Wow what a feeling this is.... Now very nervous and anxious too. I have to Thank everyone of the VJ Family because without you while Kadir is working abroad without internet and limited fone signals, I think I would have gone crazy. Honestly. I really appreicate this Journey with you!

I'm looking forward to the next step and continued friendships I've made from all around the globe!

    Love to you all,

    Mari & Kadir too

Congratulations!!!!!!! I wish you both the best and I hope you have a Blessed life together.

  9. It's WRONG to think that all RUB girls are like that.

    Why?

    Right?

Men are men. And I believe the main reason why men in the States don't do some stuff is cause in that case they are going to be sued for sexual harassment. Here comes the point: sometimes men treat women the way women allow to treat them.

Still behaviour like "grabbing women's @sses" is in NO WAY acceptable. Even if a person says something unacceptable, for me he falls into the category that Russian people call "быдло/bydlo" (probably close equialent in English will be "white trash" the difference is though, that bydlo can actually have money and can even hold a degree) and I avoid being around those people. And that might be why my personal impressions differ from somebody else's personal impressions.

I would like to believe that my mother raised me the right way to respect women. Sure I have seen what many men across the world do to women, but it is wrong everywhere if women are being mistreated. I would not want a man to hurt my sister that way. Laws are good as a deterent, but it only stops those who have sense. The idiots who would mistreat women don't care about laws or consequences. All I am saying is all women should be respected and all men should be held accountable for their actions. I would like to think that I made a difference in Tver, Russia in 2005 when I helped a woman who was being hit by her drunk husband, but soon as I left her, she waited for him to beat her again. This is a really sad thing, but it can happen everywhere in the world, especially here in the States. Anyway, I think men should be good examples to their sons, so that their sons grow up to respect their mothers, sisters and other women.

  10. Getting a man is not hard. Up until a certain age, women have the upper hand. Even in America. And I meant that a guy who is a five can get a ten, not that guys get a five in America and a ten in Russia/Phillipines/whatever. Even American guys my age who I personally would reject can get hot Russian girls because, well, blue passport.

Ahhhhh.....It took me 8 years to find the one. Believe me when I tell you, no girls was chasing me for my passport. I might had liked that more. But I am glad I have my Olya now. It was worth the journey! Let's see....29 times to the Ukraine and 7 times to Russia.:thumbs:

  11. Exactly.

It was considered perfectly acceptable for men in Ukraine, married men, to discuss the women they were banging last night, not go home to their families, get drunk and #### women they met at some club or bar...it was all great back slapping fun with detailed descriptions of the ....nm You do not see or hear that here at all.

Some of it may be BS but I assure you, most of it is not.

It is also accepted...even if not considered acceptable...that men will grab women by the @ss or breasts on the bus or subway, in the grocery store aisles or even take out their dicks and wave them around. Usually alcohol is involved. For me it was great fun and added texture  Kind of like mass fights and throwing manhole covers. You just do not see that here. It is rather boring.

One of Alla's great disappointments is that men here do not "act normal" and look at her the way FSU men do. She says they always look like they will "run like rabbits" from an attractive woman. Men grabbing her @ss were considered "rude, but at least I know I am looking good"

We saw an obvioulsy drunk guy staggering down the street a couple weeks ago and he passed by and eyed Alla up and down (didn't say anything but had the "I want to #### you look") then he staggered off. It was St Patricks day. Alla said "First normal looking guy I have seen in Vermont"

Geez!!!!! I thought there was something seriously wrong with me! :help: I always look at all the beautiful Ukrainian women walking in the streets of Simferopol, Odessa, Kiev, Yalta, Kharkov, Sevastopol....etc...I can't help but stare. One thing though, they always smiled at me because they knew I thought they were beautiful! :innocent: Now, I make sure I don't look in Russia, because my woman let me know right away that she didn't like that other women smiled at me. Got to love those Russian hotties!!! They love when you look at them, but they lay the law down when you are theirs! :bonk:

  12. Well......the only thing I will say on this matter is that even if we get a more accurate account of all of the processing times, in the end it really won't matter much because they do not have the appropriate level of staffing. This new improved data base will reflect their productivity, which by our members standard is not that good, but the increase performance we are looking for will not be realized. I wonder why they removed the other centers from assisting with the K-1's? There use to be more centers (centre)to assist with the heavy load. Anyway, it is a good thing I get on a plane every 3 months to see my girl. I think I would be going nuts like everyone else waiting for this process. Thanks for the info and good luck to you.

  13. It was interesting to read a recommendation to USCIS by Ombudsman. Now it expects that someone will manage this at a high level, devolpe procedures and implement said plan. Now since these division of USCIS are extremely busy and have not had the appropriate staffing to begin with, I wonder how much consideration they will really give this recommendation? I am of the opinion that no one is currently going to make this an effective part of their procedures and people will continue to wait for lengthy periods of time. What do you all think? Just my 2 cents, nothing more.

  14. I don't. It is, and was not, a matter of money. Trying to get married to anyone "on the cheap" is a dumb idea. If you cannot afford to bring someone here and have them live at least as well as they did in their former home, do them a favor and don;t even go down that road. The idea that women in the FSU are in some sort of hell-hole and need to be rescued is preposterous.

I completely agree!!! At least I haven't met one yet.

  15. If you think it is easy, it's not. USCIS will do everything to discourage those who are not ready for the long-haul. Communication, or at least the determination with which you both seek communication will be very important. What makes sense to you may be an insult to her or visa-versa. It will take lots of patience to clear up misunderstandings and even more to get past the differences of culture (no whistling in the house!).

As for the OP – sounds like someone fishing for reactions rather than someone who genuinely seeks advice and counsel.

I always get the why are you whistling question. I tell them not to worry, I am not broke yet and keep whistling. Olya asked me why am I not afraid, and I told her the day I stop whistling, I am really pissed!

  16. Why? because it is not true? or because it is true? You can say it here because none of us are concerned about it. Also FSU people are brutally honest and we are used to it.

That they are!!!! :-) Olya lets me know it! Fact is I love the honesty, because I know she will not play games with me. I am always confused when women say one thng and mean another.....Oh wait, Russian women are like that to!!! :innocent:

  17. I had a few Russian scammers try to hit me on www.match.com. It was enough to get my curiosity up and google about Russian scammers. That led me to www.elenasmodels.com since they had lots of info on the typical scams. I was shocked at the difference in quality between the RUB women and American women. Still, I never figured I would ever go overseas to find someone, so didn't pursue it further until about a year later. I finally got bored and the idea popped back into my head. I ended up going back to www.elenasmodels.com and saw they had a free membership and figured wth. After seeing all the hotties that wrote to me on the first day, I was hooked and ended up getting a basic membership. Long story short, I was on my way to Ukraine a couple months later and married shortly after that. So that would be my recommendation...www.elenasmodels.com.

I have been to the Ukraine 28 times in the last 8 years. I have been to Russia 6 times in that same period. I returned from Ekaterinburg Russia 3 weeks ago, after visiting my fiance. I used Anastasiweb.com and met some very good women and I met some not so serious women. Elenamodels is a good reputable website. My current way that I met my sweetheart was using Russian website mamba. There are plenty of no so serious people there, but there are some very serious women there also. Once I met my sweetheart, we went exclusively on skype and formed our relationship. I have been to Ekaternburg twice and currently we are waitng for our NOA2.

The best way IMO is to just go there and learn about the culture, the rich history and the people. I love all my time overseas. I especially have a huge fondness for the Ukraine. I have been all over the Crimea and the rest of the Ukraine. Use your common sense, with respect to scammers. There are also some very good people there and I have been Blessed to meet some. Good luck on your journey and do not worry about the cost, because it is expensive, and it is worth it when you find the one you love!

  18. I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SAY THANX TO EVERYONE FOR ALL THE GOOD ADVICE!
