After 3 grueling interviews, my hubby was just offered a job at Verizon Wireles!!

I guess I assumed getting a SSN was the 1st Step in arriving in the US. My husband seemed to remember that the SSN wasn't necessary for the marriage license, so I was wrong about that. Sorry. He knows one guy at a Pakistani gas station that offered him work, but he has a Master's Degree in IT so we are hoping to get a good job with that. Worst case, he can begin at the gas station.

We had to get him a SSN in order for us to get a Marriage License. I believe that he can now work because of his WorkPremit. He has been applying like crazy and we are hoping to start hearing back from perspective employers in the next few weeks. Have you gotten an interview yet for your AOS?

No we didn't receive a SSN yet. Are we supposed to? He already has one but it says not approved for work, or something like that.

08/29/2012 File received back at NVC and forwarded to CSC
09/10/2012 Received a NOA 1 & Text Message that file was sent to California Service Center where they will make a decision on our case.
05/29/2013 Reaffirmed by USCIS without any appeal process
Embassy
07/02/2013 The Embassy called my husband for packet 3.
07/11/2013 My husband sent in packed 3
07/17/2013 Embassy refused our case yet again without an Interview cancel...

Just received email and texts stating that our AOS Packet has been received and fowarded to the National Benefits Center for processing!

Picking up my husband's medical paperwork this Friday - Inshallah - sending AOS Packet in on Saturday!

Finally going to get Medical done for AOS this coming Friday - Inshallah

After having to wait to apply for my husband's AOS because he had to have an emergency root canal and then surgery, we think we are finally able to send the AOS packet in now. After he has Medical at Civil Surgeon's next week. Poor guy needs ALL the shots.

Thanks! My poor husband is all I am going to say. He has been poked and prodded for the past 3 months. He still needs to get his wisdom teeth out but we decided to wait so we can get his package in so that he can start working and also go home for a visit. (His sisters are getting married!!) It will be a relief to get it done.

My husband was never officially given the 221(g) form. Our interview was long and painful and at the end they just told us that they were doing some additional checking. It wasn't until I called to check the status that I realized we were on AP which by now you know is pretty much mandatory for all males coming from Pakistan. Sorry I didn't respond until now, I don't check this site...

Gathering everything needed to apply for AOS. Hopefully by mid July will be ready to file. Also, in 15 days we are moving to a new place. I am sooo happy to have someone here with me to help and support and share with me!
