  1. I can only run to VJ after praying to the Heavenly Father for mercy and guidance..so please advice, as I am so tensed about our situation.

My son is turning 18 this year. After a surviving the tale of our petition being transferred to the Texas Service Center blackhole, we are finally scheduled to have the interview on July 1. Up to this time, the biological father has refused to sign the consent allowing my child to go. My son is willing to come with me. I have been trying to ask for the consent for the longest time, and was told he will, but I am always given the run-around.

I am planning to just go ahead and take my son with me ( with a positive mind that we will pass the interview). I don't know if there was ever a case wherein the immigrations in the Philippines did not let a 17 year old board the plane with his mother with him.

Any advice/experience/known case/, whether positive or negative, will be appreciated. These will help clear my mind.

    Thanks.

    hi,

If you were not or haven't been married to the biological father of your son, in other words your son is illegitimate, I don't think you still need his biological father's signature. Here in the Philippines, what matter most is the mother (if the child is illegitimate)

  2. To all Vj Members,

To those of you who've gone thru Sputum test at SLMEC...They usually tell the beneficiary to call and make an appointment with the local health dept upon POE.At the local dept they usually do a repeat sputum exam according to a friend's experience last year. My QuestionS are:

    1. DO they still recquire a repeat Sputum Test at local health dept?

    2. How long will have to wait for the result?

    3. How long from the time you went to the local health dept to the date of the appointment to the physician for final

    evaluation?

Please Share your experiences. Thank You So Much.

  3. Do they allow rescheduling of interviews in the USEM? I am actually in a dilemna right now so I pray that someone can help me..

My 15 yr old child is scheduled for interview on July 1. He is enrolled as a senior in HS here in the Phil. The biological father refuses to sign the affidavit allowing him to leave right now, but compromised that he will allow the child after he graduates in HS.

The problem is..If he passes the interview on July 1, the 6-month window period to leave the country will be over by the time he graduates.

Do they reschedule based on some criteria..? Or they will just reschedule per request?

    Hi,

Is your son Illegitimate?, Then why do you need his biological Father's signature if you were never married to him?

  4. Hi gil and gina,

Just curious why was there a delay in the medical result of your husband, was it because he undergone sputum test or for another reason? I'm just wondering because my parents original interview was May 10 but because of the result of the x'ray, they have undergone this sputum test, and the result will not be in till June 29. We have'nt called the USEM to re sched for the Interview, I don't know if we really have to call the USEM to re schedule for the interview beacause a friend of mine said that the St Lukes Clinic will automatically do it and will tell you your interview date at the time when you get your medical result (If everything is fine, Culture Is negative and immunization is done). Now I'm confused don't know what to do.

  5. Hi to all fellow VJrs!

My husband was first scheduled for interview by NVC on June 10, 2011. I called Manila Embassy right away if its possible to move the schedule at least few days after coz my husband's medical result wont be due till June 10. They said I cant schedule until his medical is done. I was trying to reschedule coz im afraid that if June 10 comes & my hubby's medical is done, there wont be available slots for June anymore. That day came & my hubby's medical is finally completed with a good result, we immediately tried to schedule another appointment, unfortunately, the only available sched is August 3. So, my husband just took that slot & was advised that he could reschedule online, he can just check the website for earlier dates @ ustraveldocs.com. Last night, I logged in to the website: I was able to get in easily using the password they sent my husband via email after they scheduled him for August 3, but I got disappointed with this website, in order for me to re-schedule or even check availabiltiy, I have to cancel our prior schedule first (Aug3), I got scared all of a sudden, thinking that if I do that I might lose the schedule & be moved to a farther date, so with my fingers crossed, I continued, canceled the previous sched & was directed to their calendar which is very limited, it was only showing 3 months: August- October, & the only available dates were August 4-12, OMG! Its not even showing the month of June or July even nothing is available those months. Im so disappointed, so now instead of August 3, wanting to have an earlier schedule, I have no choice but to move to August 4 :bonk: , coz thats the earliest slot they have. I'l call them next week, Im afraid to cancel our August 4 schedule again & be moved to a farther date, id rather talk to an operator & have them do the rescheduling for me.

My husband & I was blaming ourselves that this has happened, it feels like we could have at least done something to prevent further delay. We had been proactive with this whole process, but at the end of everything, its turning out like this. When I called the embassy at first to reschedule, is it better that I just lied & told them that we wont make it to the June 10 schedule coz he is out of the country, & not because of his medical. Would it made a difference?... We were afraid to lie coz we thought that they are making notes about our reasons, but now it doesnt seem like they are keeping track of it, the last time my hubby called them, they were asking again why he is rescheduling...

    Im so diappointed... :(

Any advice on how I could get my husband an earlier interview date? or

Is there any way we could check the availability of dates without canceling our prior schedule?

Any comment about this situation is greatly appreciated... :help:

  6. My wife's POE is tomorrow in Las Vegas. Don't think there will be any problems, but just wanted to check to see if anyone else had the same annotation on their visa, and what was the outcome???

    Hi DAn Tes,

Don't worry. I have a friend with same annotation and same POE las Vegas (poe las vegas sept 2010)she was advised to call and make an appointment with the local health department (located in shadow lane near UMC hospita). They gave her a skin test for TB, and did a 3 day sputum test same as what she did in SLMEC Manila, but in las vegas she does not have to go everyday to the health dept. they gave her 3 containers for 3 day collection of sputum to bring home and to put the collection in the ref. Then bring back to the local health dept when done. She will then be given an appointment when to go back (appointment with the local health dept physician),and to have a chest x ray one week before her appointment.with the dr. Nothing to worry she will be fine

  8. ***** Moving from Bringing Family members... to Tourist visa forum *****

Being married to a USC will make things difficult, as the CO may not believe that the USC husband is not going with. But if they can show strong ties for the USC to PH, that would help.

hi, thank you. What about a certification from the school that he is presently enrolled, do you think this will help?

  9. hi everybody,

FEW QUESTIONS regarding a FRIEND'S CASE. A US citezen friend is currently staying here in the Philippines with his wife and 2 stepchildren they just got married here a month ago. He is planning to apply tourist visas for his wife and 2 stepchildren so they can go to USA for a short trip just to meet and be with his parents (the parents of the US citizen). The husband is not going with them because he is presently attending school and will still take 2 years to finish his school. Do you think his wife and stepchildren will be given tourist visas? WHAT DO YOU THINK ARE THE CHANCES?????????????? Thank You... :hehe: :hehe: :hehe: :hehe:

  12. Hi to all,

this pertains to a friend's case/ My friend is a US citizen who got married (civil wedding)in the Phil. to a filipina just recently (2 weeks ago). His wife has children ages 4 and 5. Questions are:

    1. Can he petition his stepchildren now but not his wife yet? Because his wife, will attend school and wants to finish college first before he will file a petition for her?

    2. What about for the green card of his 2 stepchidren if they were approved, will the green card be a 2 year conditional greencard since their mother is married for less than to years to their stepdad? Thank you so much. PLS>> HElP...

  13. I believe that they don't have to be together because they will have different visa packets to turn in at port of entry so it should not be a problem if you mom comes first. Grats with your mom. My mother will have her medical on Monday and I am also hoping that everything will go smoothly. What documents did your parents submitted at St Lukes? Thanks.

    Hi michaillaho,

Your mom will need to bringThe ff:

    1.Passport

    2. 3pcs 2x2 pictures

3.Appointment letter or a document or letter from NVC which shows Case No. and Preference Category (plus a photocopy)

Good Luck on your mom"s interview

  14. Hi All,

Petition was filed for both parents, Mom and Step Dad (IR5 Category). My mom passed her medical exam but my Step Dad for furher evaluation and will undergo this sputum exam.I know this will cause some delay, Does anybody here knows how long to wait for the result of this sputum exam?some says 3 days, others says 2 months. My stepdad's schedule for sputum test is on Apr 26, 27, and 28. One more question : Can my mom go ahead with the interview without my step Dad and if she passed her interview, can she go to the US without my step Dad yet coz my sister is giving birth and my mom needs to be there ASAP. Can my Step Dad follow to the US after he's done with his medical and interview? Or is it required that they must be together at the interview and also to be together during Port of Entry? Thank You So Much... Pls. I need some inputs.
