  1. Hi. There are certain boxes in some USCIS form which when we fill-out electronically, would yield a "cross" (x) instead of a "check". Will it matter especially when the part says, "please check one", and when you click on the option of your choice, an "x" will appear instead of a "check". Thanks. Have anyone here encountered the same, and received an RFE or have their application returned because of that error?

  2. Hi there! Thanks to everyone who extended their help to me in one way or another thru visajourney. By the first week of March, we will send already the application to chicago lockbox since it is an i-485 application with concurrent i-130. Before I do so, I just need some more comments on the following that I need to finalize:

    1. I am planning to put the i-130 and i-485 in one envelope and all other attachments/evidence(is that right)?

    2. The 1-485 application must also have the i-765 (work authorization) and i-864 (affidavit of support) as attachments (is this right)?

    3. Does the affidavot of support need a cover letter?

    4. So I am sending all of it to only one address right, which is the Chicago Lockbox?

    5. After all of this is done, what happens on a step by step procedure? Can someone elbaorate to me please? Thanks and God bless everybody!

  3. Hi, does USCIS look at previous marriage license records if there was any for the beneficiary, coz an ex boyfriend of mine who I met prior to my husband now, and also a USC wanted to marry me two months before I met my USC husband. At that time I kind of agreed, so we applied for marriage license at San Mateo, CA. But I realized that I don't really love that ex boyfriend of mine, so I broke up with him and stayed single for a while, and did not push thru with our marriage, and well, the marriage license was not consumed, and it expired after 3 months. Then I met my husband now, whom I am so in love with, and he's the one who won my heart that led to marriage. We applied for our marriage license at SF, California. I am just worried that USCIS might have a tool networked with all its government offices by which when my name is typed, all previous transactions of whatever sort with any of the government agency will show also that I applied for a marriage license with a different guy, then they might suspect something else, so I don't really know, any thoughts? Thanks a lot. :)

  4. Hi, how did you arrange your immigration packet, I don't mean the chronological order, I am interested with how you fastened them and did you use a folder, etc. Specifically, for the evidenc of bona fide marriage, like utility bills, did you paste them on bond paper or could you have them fastened directly along with the other documents? Thanks so much. Your thoughts are highly appreciated. :)

  5. Hello just a few questions:

In i-765 form item number 15, I am asked for the "current immigration status", what do you write if your tourist visa expired already, so technically I don't have a status. I am submitting this i-765 or work authorization application along with my AOS as spouse of USC. Also, can I cross out all items which are not relevant to my case just to emphasize that I do not need to answer them. Thanks.

  6. I read from another thread that if your marriage took place prior to a deportation proceeding, then it will not affect your application for AOS. So, I was thinking even if my disgruntled relatives call USCIS or something, it will not have an impact. Guys, I'm just worried about my evil relatives as I mentioned in the previous messages. lol.

  7. Oh no, I don't think so coz I haven't been in a court to respond to any proceeding. That was why I asked coz I left my relative's house already and I don't know if anyone has actually called USCIS enough to cause them to search or call that place. My marriage with my husband is not for convenience, it is a true marriage. Truth is, my relatives did not approve of my marriage with my husband in the first place and it has caused them to talk ###### (pardon the use of the word) about us. So, I'm just worried they may do something stupid like that. Any thoughts? Would USCIS even entertain things like that from disgruntling relatives? Many thanks.
