That is cool. Interestingly enough, she has many different names. For the paperwork process while we listed all of them as alternate names, since her passport had Oxana on it, that is what is listed as her primary name. After the third day together I no longer called her Oksana, as there is a name with special meaning to her that I call her by. Did not realize this until a couple weeks ago how much meaning this name conveyed to her. I am special, as she considers anyone else calling her by this insulting!!! I am the only one allowed...yeaaa!
My passport says Oxana also, but it can be spelled Oksana as well, it's all the same - at least it doesn't affect the spelling in Russian
The wait is a bit easier now knowing VSC is at least doing something and approving I-129Fs again! I keep looking at Igor's list and so happy every time someone is approved! The more people they approve every day, the sooner they get to January
I keep checking the list also

I met my fiance in the US (i was there for the summer) and we spent 3 months together, and then we made a deal - he comes to visit me in winter for a couple of weeks and i go to the States every summer for 2-3 months. It's been 2 and a half years since then and we just filed the petition.

She was probably in the US on Work and Travel program, so 2-year rule doesn't apply in that case.
I've been there - stayed 3 summers in a row in the US on J1 visa, but even after me and my fiance got engaged i figured it's better just go back and file for K1 visa - othervise i could cause some future problems for my family if they tried to get their visas later. Plus for J1 visa she is supposed to be a student and she might want to graduate before she leaves her home country. Anyway, it's something everybody should give a proper thought before they make a decision.

Abolish fiancee visas

Well said.
And I don't understand why the topoc starter suggests that getting married on tourist visa (or maybe student visa or work visa or whatever), which means breaking the immigration rules by the way, is better than getting a fiance(e) visa. Getting married in fiance(e)'s home country and then be apart after the wedding does not sound like a good idea to me either.
So, people just know better what's the best option for them.
