  1. :hehe: :hehe:

No need to feel "sorry" for me or anyone else who feels this way, or for their S/O.

One cannot know the full capacity to love if they cannot learn to love themselves above all. It is NOT the same as being selfish. "Love your neighbor as you love yourself." It's not "love your neighbor above yourself." I love my fiance equally as I love myself. He would surely respect me less if I ever became some hopeless sap who "loved him over my own life."

  2. Two year period is the time frame for everyone.

Perhaps wait a few days to see if anyone who's had an experience similar to yours to respond. If not, send in what you've compiled.

If it's not enough, the good news is you can reapply. The bad news is, it's more waiting. But the plus side is, at least you can visit her often with a simple drive across the border.

    Best of luck.

  3. Anything that would prove that you were on her side of the border?

Restaurants if you went out to eat. Places you might have gone together (example: I sent a photocopy of tickets for a tour we went on together that corresponded with some picture we took) . Did you get her an engagement ring? A receipt for that could be good.

These are all secondary evidence. But I'm really not sure what you can do without the stamps.

If they're not asking for it in the RFE though, I wouldn't bother. ... unless you have an engagement ring. I'd include that receipt.

  4. I personally did all pages from back to front.

But the instructions refer to all pages if you use it as proof of citizenship. Several members have mentioned that they provided their Birth Certificate for the proof of citizenship, and only the bio page and stamps for the primary evidence of having met in person....without any RFEs.

It's up to you really, with what will make you feel safer.

  5. A belated congratulations to AZ and Fresy :D When I found out that you received the NOA2 notice, I thought mine would be another 2 weeks or so (we filed end of July and received our NOA1 early August. ... I still consider myself a July filer though :P lol)

Tonga...good luck on your interview in a few weeks!!!!

    Wiggles...congratulations to you too!

Guys...We received our NOA2 today. Couldn't call the mister, as he was already asleep. Emailed him. Will skype him in the morning when I wake up :D I'm visiting my parents for the holidays, and they happened to be talking to me about wedding plans earlier in the afternoon. Got the text...which just talks about an update on the site. Logged in...and I nearly passed out from happiness. lol. We're starting our 3 nights of dinner parties etc...and now I've got the best news to tell family and friends. :D

I hope all June filers got taken care of, and that the rest of the July filers receive their NOA2 in the next days.

  6. sorry, dats B.S. u do knw ur time and how long ur wait is.. ur human, its in ur head.. its like that for everyone who goes thru such process.. so ur just playin mind games wit urself whether u chk vj,or uscis or neither

Actually no I didn't. I just noticed the other day that I was almost at 4 1/2 months.

But your'e cute for calling it B.S.

I have an idea of how long it's been, and it's very general. I don't count my days away.

Think what you want. My opinions of your post, however, I'll keep reserved.

There are lot of RFE's in July  Hope I will not get one too…

If you do (which I hope you don't either), it's a small delay in the process. ... Small delay usually.

    sretno!

  7. only its not quite as clear cut as you make out now is it as the guy got a prenup in place but yet his immigrant wife is working to support them both!?!? that is really not a good example to use!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

imo a prenup is just used by someone who doesnt think the marriage is going to work. a prenup is used in place of actually getting to know someone properly

    That's your opinion.

Not many people go into a marriage thinking it'll end in divorce. I sure as hell don't. I'll do everything in my power to make things work.

But, no one can tell the future. No one. My uncle's sister got divorced after 22 years of marriage, and she lost half of her very huge inheritance on top of a broken heart. She didn't see the situation coming.

I know plenty of couples who have done prenups who didn't need to at all. They're together still. I know plenty of couples who did not do prenups. They're still together. Prenups don't determine whether a couple is going to divorce or not. Nor do they say "I don't trust you." At least not to me. But I can see why people might say they do. Personally, I wouldn't get mad if my fiance said "I want to do a prenuptial agreement." ... In the end, I don't really see myself going for one with him. But I also don't have a problem in having the discussion with him. I think that says a lot about our comfort, trust, and faith with each other in talking on a very hard topic.

  8. Correct me if I am wrong, but don't pre-nups only protect assets you currently have? What you aquire together in the future is jointly owned (not talking inheritance here that has special considerations)

I was under the impression it can protect future assets as well, such as income savings. What if 80% of the savings was from one person?

I'm on the fence of the prenups. I never thought of doing one, as I've absolutely no plans to get a divorce. But neither did my uncle's sister, who got a divorce after 22 years of marriage and lost half of her (very large) inheritance to a cheating (ex)husband. My parents are really the ones who brought it up, and I feel obligated to do it for their sake.

  9. I was talking to my mom about this recently. I am young and don't own a house yet, and plan on going back to school to switch careers. However, should anything happen to my parents, my inheritance is huge. Not only that, I know that even though I do not have large assets now, in the future we will.

Prenups protect BOTH parties in the end, if done right.

Anyways, my question, for people who've had prenups done. What price ranges do the lawyers charge to have them done?
