  1. Double ditto here.

Our RFE information was sent on Tuesday so hopefully they'll update the system soon to indicate that. I wishwishwish I had known what they would have been asking for so that I could have gotten it while waiting all those freaking months and not had to delay sending in stuff because the distance for those documents to travel.

We planned in the first place for the visa to be ready for travel in January. It could still happen. Maybe.

:( I know how you feel. CSC is really slow this year. Soon, we'll get it soon.

  2. Here is the link

    https://egov.uscis.g.../jsps/login.jsp

When you log in, you have your receipt number, WAC**** then your mobile and email alerts on or off, and the middle column "Last Updated" will tell you when it was touched. From what I have read here it doesn't mean much but it does make you feel good for a day. They touched our application two weeks after we were accepted and that's it. And here we are 133 days and counting. Hope this helped

Last Updated is the "touch" OH! lol. That's when they sent me the NOA1 notice. -.- Amazing. LOL.

  3. I know how you all are feeling. Big hugs to lots of you guys. I'm bummed my Christmas will be without Srdjan this year...buuuuut thank God for family to distract me. I just hope we get the NOA2 by then! It'd be the best Christmas gift lol.

    k.

This seems like a dumb question, but which website do I look at where you can see when your package has been touched? I signed up on the USCIS site, and it doesn't show dates for anything. I'm lost. And to be quite frank, I wasn't tracking it for the first few months, because I didn't want to torture myself for 5. But now -.- we're getting anxious. loool

It'll be one year since I've seen him. lol We are crazy people. But it'll be worth it in the end. :))

  4. Just checking out the forum to see how you all are doing. Congrats to those who've moved forward to the next steps. I see some people starting to get theirs who was a week or two ahead of me. So maybe we'll get our NOA2 soon. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he'll be state side before my birthday. lol.

Holiday season, seems the centers slow down every year around this time. But hey, seeing forward movement for other people is great and is bringing me some hope that I'll be up soon too.

Have a great Thanksgiving if I don't log back in here soon!

  5. On the USCIS website, there's a link on the left, under services, "sign up for case updates". Register as an applicant customer and use your receipt number for your case.

You can turn email notifications and text messages on and off, and see whenever they "touch" your file.... pretty neat, but really just another thing to obsess over...

Maybe I'll do this. But yeah, seems like another thing to obsess over. I'll wait until October rolls around for VJ's projected date for any NOA2 notice. lol. We're going on with business as usual. Lucky for me, my fiance keeps me sane and grounded. I'm the one who's all, "Ah I want to hear from them, this date and that date." He tells me to relax, though I'm sure I can almost hear his eyes rolling. lol :D

  6. thank you so much for your support .. see i have to go there coz we have only been dating for last 5 months and were not really big on pics coz of our age difference im 50 and shes 25 . but this past month we both realised how much we have grown close to each other and that we love each other and i really love her alot .i call her thru calling cards but im gona sart using skype so i can save our convo but we never thot we would fall in love and this situation would happen so we dont have any proof of our relationships shes not a big fan of social networks and we never took pics toghther coz she doesnt like pics . i have her alone pics which she sent me from home like a week or 2 ago but thats it. im gona go there to propose her but im worried bout her getting denied the f1 twice and also our age .does the age matter.. she mite be 25 but she is really mature and knows where her life is and what she wants to do with it. ??

I see. Your trip would be great then for pictures and of course formally proposing to her. That'll be a special moment for you both to share.

I'm sure they may question the age difference, but something that may help is also having letters from her family members and maybe yours stating their support of the marriage? I'm 7 years older than my fiance, and we had his sister write a letter and sign it. I will also have one from my parents for him to bring to the interview. But I'm not an expert, and I don't know if they'll give her trouble for the age difference or for the previous visa denials. I hope someone will chime in and help. Maybe you can consult a lawyer and talk to them, but not necessarily pay for them to do the whole process.

  7. In my opinion is better to try and fail than to have never tried

    I didn't say not try.

I'm the kind of person who likes to get it done the first time and done right. So I would weigh out my options. And if something caused doubt in my mind, I'd find another option. No one said anything about not trying.

  8. Also, no, don't sent in a correction form. IF you get an RFE then wait for that. It won't add many days to your process. But sending in information now, what good would it do? They have no formal paperwork saying the need a correction for anything. Which means your petition is sitting and waiting with piles of other petitions...which no one will look at until it's your petition's turn to be looked at or needs to be looked at (i.e. an RFE).

I'm sure things will work out fine in the long run. :)

  9. I see what you are saying... However, if you truly look into the cases that get denied ALL of them where denied either because of a serious mistake in the application (I mean VERY serious) or when relationship is not true. I trust COs and I think they do an outstanding job in picking those relationships. For example, look at Morocco forum.. Does it tall you something? 100's of young moroccan males getting married to older )often beyond child-bearing age) US females? How many of those relationships are mutual? I am surprised that any of them actually make it, adding to the army of illegal immigrant...

Another thing is: at K1 stage YOU have to prove that you have bona fide relationship, while at AOS after overstay USCIS has to prove that you entered without intent to stay.

    Yeah, true. I agree.

But I have seen one case in which a person tried, and was not able to adjust. He ended up having to go back to Brasil before the visa he was on expired. His wife was pregnant too and he missed the birth of their daughter. No, he wasn't ever here illegally, nor did he ever overstay a visa. Just a bad and unfortunate case.

  10. No "CO" is involved in making decisions about adjusting status. USCIS "adjudicators" do that. The paranoia exists because people either misunderstand circumstances or because they simply hear or read the false information from multiple sources.

There's lots of confusion on this issue. Those who don't really know, would be wise to read and learn instead of posting nonsense.

It's called an analogy. You know....a situation that is not the same but similar? Dog is to wolf as adjudicator is to CO? No? Okay, maybe not. Whatever.

  11. I dont see how this is in short time... I have seen alot of peoples timelines and they received their NOA1 whithin a few days.

I understand i cant speed them up but I ean anything we can do to be ready for the next stage... for example having forms etc prepared so there not much extra wait time..

    Not really.

Get the birth certificate ready maybe.

All the other records that need to be collected should have a matching date with the packet they'll send you. So what good is getting an immunization record right now? Or the police records?

Other than that, keep records of emails/letters/phone bills/etc to show an ongoing relationship.

  12. lol This is the second time in under a month I've seen the same argument about Adjusting Status w/in the states after being on a different visa.

I think really, the only real worry is for people who've done something illegally (which OP has not done).

The rest is paranoia, and I think there ARE some cases that don't go through because maybe a CO thinks the person came in with an intent to marry. It's not a complete myth. How can it be if the paranoia exists? We see similar things happen in the visa process. Sometimes one out of hundreds of couples will be the one who has a visa denied cause the CO didn't think it was a bonafide relationship, when it in fact was. So who's to say this situation doesn't happen once in a while? Just saying.

But all in all, pretty darn safe to Adjust Status (as long as it's not in San Diego and the person isn't Mexican...it's harder over here.)

  13. From what I've seen on the forums, you should be fine as long as you have a letter from your employer stating your salary and job security (on official letterhead), and several copies of your pay stubs. (I pulled that information from similar threads I remember reading btw, but I'm not 100% sure)

If it makes you feel more comfortable, getting a co-sponsor may be helpful.

  14. I don't mean to step over any boundaries, but also wondering how much you have talked about marriage.

That is certainly something to think about. Are you 100% sure you want to marry him and be with him for the rest of your life? I mean, I know being separated is painful. But, would a rushed marriage and adjusting status be a solution to be together cause of not wanting to be separated? Or is it to spend the rest of your life together? I'm not really looking for a response either. Just playing devil's advocate. An engagement period (whether together or apart) gives one time to reflect on these things.

I'm not judging the relationship. And no offense meant. Just throwing that out there.

  15. I think it's a split. They focus on the Petitioner's Financial capability to support a potential wife and future family and then they focus on the Petitionee's Background to see if there would be Red Flags along the way. And then they focus on the Petitioner and the Petitionee's relationship during the interview process. That's just what I have observed in my case and may not be true for all.

Or in some cases, the Petitioner's financial capability of supporting her potential husband. ;) haha

    ....

Back to OP, everyone said what I would say. From what I understand they do a background check on both. But it seems once the Petition is approved and it goes into the later stages, there's more done on the Beneficiary (medical exam, immunization records, police records, etc.)
