Hi VJ,
My wife and stepchildren received visas not long after our 2nd marriage anniversary. As expected, my wife received an IR-1 GC, and my younger stepson received IR-2 GC. Unexpectedly, my older stepson received an IR-2. (Both are minors, but the older will be 18 next year).
We filed I-90 in October 2019 requesting the CR-2 GC be corrected to an IR-2 GC, and finally last week received a response, which was a "request for original" GC.
Two questions I have:
1. Should we expect it will take another year for USCIS to respond to the request for original?
2. Regardless how long USCIS takes to respond, he'll obviously be without a GC for the duration. Should he need to travel, how can he do so? Do we simply file I-131A?
Thanks!
