Hi all! :star:

Has anyone of you requested police clearance particulary in Dubai, UAE? I am an expat and have been a resident here since january 2007. I have browsed the requirements in the Dubai Police General H.Q. website and theres an option to apply on line or bring it yourself. My question, obviously the on line application is more favorable but how reliable and efficient is this process (time, accuracy) as oppose to personally walk-in to request such? Please anyone of you who have been there, id appreciate your sharing it. thank you so much and bless us all

btw, pls include if how long is the validity period upon request. (if any) thank you again

Hi Veepee,

We went through the process over a year ago so I'm not familiar with an online process. But when we were getting the Dubai police clearance we first went to our local police station where my husband got the form and also got his fingerprints taken. Both the English and Arabic side of the form have to be filled out so I would either take it to one of those typing places or have a friend or co-worker fill out the Arabic side.

Then we took that to the Dubai Police Headquarters in Deira and handed everything in. I can't remember what all we took to the headquarters...I'm sure we had his passport with residence visa in it....and I'm pretty sure we had to have passport photos along with the fingerprints. We were then given a receipt stating when we could come back and pick up the clearance. I believe we had to wait two weeks until it was ready and we could go back and pick it up. It was valid for 3 months.

I'm not sure how much the fee was and it may have gone up but I would bring the exact amount if you can, I don't think they made change.... Or if they did they were certainly grumpy about it. You then get a receipt of payment which you have to show when you come back to pick up the police clearance.

I would call either your local police station or the police headquarters in Deira to double check on the requirements and the process. Or call both places, you know how people love to give two different answers there :)

good luck with everything!

I would recommend calling Dubai police and double checking to make sure everything I said is still accurate.

You should get your interview letter about 2 or so months before the actual interview. That will be a good time to get the police clearance. You'll also have to do the medical during that time.
