PRISM GUIDANCE & COUNSELING EXPERIENCE

July 22, 2008 around 3:30pm right after I had my 1st day of medical, I hurriedly went to look for PRISM. Before I went to Manila I brought with me a map printed on CFO website. Don't really know which way to go but I keep on asking people where to go, where is this place, a lot of asking along the way even inside the jeepney...

When finally I located PRISM, the security guard ask for any VALID ID. I gave my postal ID then. Then proceeded to 2nd floor. Ask on the cashier what to do. She gave me a form, filled it up and then go back to cashier and pay P250. She asked for ID and my birth certificate. Started to be worried. Why? Because I didn't brought with me any copy of my birth certificate because i really didn't planned on getting the guidance and counseling that day. At first, I just thought of locating the place so the next time I will be going there, it's no longer hard for me to locate the place. But since I am already there I just insisted to get the guidance and counseling.

To continue, the cashier told me "How are you going to have your certificate of attendance if you don't have your birth certificate?" I said nothing... :D She then ask if I have other ID's. I gave her my TIN ID though I already handed her a photocopy of my passport since I already photocopied it before St. Luke's took my precious passport from me *sigh* So there, I have 2 valid ID's (all photocopies) PASSPORT AND TIN ID. The cashier will then give you a number to be use when you claim your other ID downstairs at the security guard. Cashier told me to proceed to S1.

S1 - This is where the picture taking will be done. They will encode your data to their system for your Certificate of Attendance. Then Proceed to S3.

S3 - Film showing, watching their video. Although I really didn't have this stage. I was not ask to do so though. so i'm happy... :D I had a shortcut  Then proceed to USA room for one on one interview with the counselor.

USA room - for applicant's bound for US of course proceed to this room. I had a one on one interview with the counselor mainly about what's written on the form I filled up. Ask about yourself, about the petitioner, about your relationship, how is your relationship going, and a lot more about you and your fiance/fiancee. She also told me, WHAT TO BRING TO THE AIRPORT when you're about to leave, WHAT NOT TO BRING AT THE AIRPORT, and some reminders on departure and arrival to US. Mentioned about, K1, AOS, CR1-IR1, and being settled. Gave advices on where to go if something happened to you in the US, know where to run to or call to. And that's it, I'm done. I think that was just less 30mins talk.

Waited for 5-10mins for the releasing of Certificate of Attendance. Finally, name called and handed me my certificate. :D

Note:

For those who are still going to have their guidance and counseling. Bring as many identification - ID's, NBI, birth cert, passport (original and photocopy of each).

Security guard will ask for ID at the entrance. Cashier will ask another ID and Birth Certificate. As for me, I gave 2 ID's (passport copy and TIN ID) since I don't have my birth certificate.

3 ID's if you don't have your birth certficate. 2 ID if you have your birth cert.

GOODLUCK AND GOD BLESS TO ALL OF US. :)
