Still fighting against the new smoking laws

I don't see how people can continue to smoke after all the research and warnings

I don't see how people can drive cars after all of the research and warnings (35,000+ US deaths a year)

I don't see how people can eat fast food after all of the research and warnings (heart disease is still a leading cause of death)

I never cared much about whether people can or cannot smoke inside of bars, pubs, restaurants, etc. Fact is, I used to be one of the folks that lit up. For the better part of 20 years. But even after I quit, it did not bother me all that much when people smoked around me. That changed when my baby was born. I don't like her to be around cigarette smoke. But then, I ain't taking her into bars and pubs either. Those establishments that are clearly adult oriented should be able to decide on their own whether or not to permit smoking. That would leave a choice for everyone to go where people can or cannot smoke. Then we might just stand a chance of getting inside a non-smoking restaurant without having to walk through this crowd of smokers (and all the smoke that comes with them) who happen to always congregate right in front of the restaurant. That, I think, is as ridiculous as the smoking section they used to have right in the front of most restaurants when they still had them. Would have made sense to send the smokers into the back so the non-smokers wouldn't have to wade through the smoking section to get to the non-smoking seats.
