Heavy cream says use by 10/26/07 is it still some good?

I have lived on a dairy farm and I know that if it's not pasturized, yes it goes bad very quickly. But anything pasturized or processed takes longer to spoil. We as Americans are very wasteful. AND it's not like you're drinking the cream or putting it on your cereal - she was adding it to something hot. Didn't mean to start a comic revolution about "spilled" cream...

Well, a-jeanne looking at the carton again, the use by date is 10/27/07 so it is 12 days over. I probably could have used it like I first thought,but now I've unnerved my own self
