Do we have to take the medical report to the VFS office too? I was thinking of getting the medical done later.

Can you please guide me about the list of docs that need to be given at the Chennai VFS?

Can the forms (DS 156, DS 156K, DS 230) be written by hand in CAPS? Or do they have to be typed?

Where can we draw the Demand Draft? Also, the amount is to be drawn is confusing. In one page, it says Rs. 4000 and in another it says Rs. 4200.

Thanks!!!

I had another doubt. I hear about some 'pink slip'. I have only received a yellow letter stating the interview date and time (Chennai). Am I missing some thing?

Another doubt (please be patient with me, thanks!) ..

Any suggestions on which Panel Doctor I should visit for my Medicals? I have read here that some have gone to Dr. Sanjan John. Btw, is he Indian?

I have received a list of 4 doctors ... just wondering whom to pick!

Thanks again!

** I personally dont think that matters! all doctors are there to do the medicals for Visa.

again, this is just my personal opinion :)

I had another doubt. I hear about some 'pink slip'. I have only received a yellow letter stating the interview date and time (Chennai). Am I missing some thing?

** I believe, that pink slip is something you get if for some reason they don't give you the visa on that day(atleast in mumbai thats how it is) I dont think you are missing anything..

Do we have to take the medical report to the VFS office too? I was thinking of getting the medical done later.

** yes, you can get your medical done earlier and submit your result to VFS. But as you know, people in india..(mooooody) My wife had her medical done early and when she went to VFS with it, she was told to bring it to embassy on the interview date..I would suggest that you get it done early and see if @ VFS office they accept it or not. if they dont, no big deal..(you got 1 thing out of your way)

Can you please guide me about the list of docs that need to be given at the Chennai VFS?

** I think you will need to submit ds-156,156K, 230 (as part of P4), birth certi etc..

In your P4 you recieved, it should have list of docs that they want you to submit to VFS b4 intrvw.

Can the forms (DS 156, DS 156K, DS 230) be written by hand in CAPS? Or do they have to be typed?

* I dont think, it matters. As long as it is clear to read, it should be okay. may be others can comment.

Where can we draw the Demand Draft? Also, the amount is to be drawn is confusing. In one page, it says Rs. 4000 and in another it says Rs. 4200.

- DD can be drawn from any nationalized bank and must be payable @ chennai. In your P4,

do you have a page which says RATE OF EXCHANGE $1 = xx Rs or you can check the exchage rate that they have on their website. However, you can email chennai embassy and ask them if they accept cash(in dollars) for this visa fees.

hope this helps.

glick..

Thanks!!!

If you have laready received the interview letter and packet-4 , what are you waiting for? Pleae go get the Police certs from local police station and regional Passport office. You also need police certs from other places where ever you have lived since the age of 16.

The packet-4 mentions everything that you need to take. It's got the list of items that you need to submit at the VFS office. Make sure you take the proof of relationship as well, and VFS may not take it, for some people they have taken, not for everyone.

However they do take the important ones,

a. PP copy

b. Interview Letter copy

c. Medical results.

d. All the DS forms mentioned in packet 4

e. Photos

f. VFS fees cash (Rs. 365...don;t know if this has changed)

g. Affidvait of support.(Notarized)

Please search this forum,....there are a lot of postings on this topic in the recent past.

Thanks for your replies Soni1952!

My main doubt was if I need to drop the medical report at the VFS. I think I will get that done, as you suggest.

I do have the list of docs in P4, just wanted to confirm it incase I need to be ready with any other document.

I did find the exchange rate for the DD, thanks. Is there any preferance of which Bank to do it from?

Thanks!
