I'm filling out form I-184 and I'm the petitioner but I don't meet the poverty line requirements, since my parents both meet the poverty line i'm using their income....So, should my father use form I-184A, and my mother should complete it as well, or should they file form I-184? What I did is fill out form I-184 and and each of them filled I-184A...I just wanna be sure if that is ok?

Plz some one clarify me with that.. thnx in advance

you can use both or one of your parents through the I-864A...

if just your father's income is enough to meet the poverty requirement, then you can just fill one I-864A and use that.

I have done the same without any problems... just make sure you provide your birth certificate to show proof that he is your father. Also, submit proof (such as driver's license) to show that you are household members.

omg I thought that because on the W-2s or 1040 federal tax form it states that i'm their dependent and it says daughter ( ... ) that would be enough proof... so I didn't know that I had to sent the birth certificates, and about the proof that we live in the same house I thought that their last check would be enought to proof that cuz the adress is right in there. I didn't sent any of them :@ so defenitely i'm gonna get a RFE :(( beautifull

no no.... don't worry...

I'm not saying that you HAVE to send in the drivers licenses....

since you are showing proof of their address and your's being the same (using their checks), then you should be okay.

I was suggested to include my license copy to show that I am also at the same address... but there are probably other ways to prove this.

But the dependent daughter issue is a bit touchy... Some will accept this; others won't. I was also a dependent (son) on my father's taxes, but they still requested the birth certificate to prove this relation.

I hope you don't get an RFE, but just incase you do, be prepared so you can send these items in right away to avoid further delays.

DO NOT send in anything else unless they send an RFE for it.... they will not be able to file it correctly.

No wayyyyy....I think I screw it up now... u know what I did...on October 29 I sent form I-184 but forgot to include birth certificates and I used regular mail, and today I just sent the birth certificates (using express mail) explaining in few sentences that I forgot to include them with the form.... So the problem is that the birth certificates are going to be at National Visa Center before the form I-184  this suckss

So are u telling me that i'm screwed up for sure right?

well... the worst thing that can happen is that they will not be able file your birth certificate and they will send an RFE if they want it.

is this the second time you sent the I-864?
