Hi guys a little help here please, Eve went for her CFO seminar, but was told she didn't have the required documents. The CFO website does not say anything about bringing pictures....affidavit of support...emails ect...why would they tell her this if it's not on the website? I told Eve just take copies of all they ask for... smile and be polite, but I think its a shame Eve has to kiss peoples @ss  to get this process over with.

CFO isn't consistent what they require. They made one friend of mines pinay get a complete transcript of his divorce. Another friend a certificate of the petitioners singleness from the US!

Good thing is I've never seen them deny anyone but they can cause peeps a lot of time and trouble.

Just let her bring copies of everything she thinks will be asked from her. Yes they are inconsistent.

They can be very, very strict because the purpose of the CFO seminar is to make sure that women think about things thoroughly before making final decisions about moving to a different country with different culture, making it sure that they really know what they're getting themselves into and making it sure that they know their fiance more than too well and not regret whatever the decisions they've made in the end. It is better to prepare all the necessary documents relating to your relationship like divorce decrees, pictures of you together, etc. During my time, there's this one girl who had to write a written testimony that she's aware of her fiance's previous marriages, how they ended and the dates those marriages ended. There's also one where they asked for a written plans from both sponsor and beneficiary.

Lots of people think doing CFO is worthless and a pain in the puwit! However more and more pinay are having BIG problems when they get to the US such as abuse from not getting to know their petitioners in the short visits the petitioners make to PI.

CFO is doing their best to prevent bad things happening. Keep the phone numbers they give you in case you have problems in the US.

There are some "Ugly Americans" here!

I understand they can be very strict and they have every right to be as the old saying goes “all that glitters is not gold” my complaint is not about being strict it’s about being consistent with the request for information the CFO website says one thing and they ask for another when you get there. If I learned nothing else during this journey, I learned that all your paper work must be consistent with the information…you can’t have one thing on one paper and something different on another no matter how small the error …so why can’t it be the same for those requesting the information “practice what you preach” I will be soooo happy when this is over!! But for now I will just keep thinking “to get to something you have to go through something”

Thanks for listening!

Claudeth really had to jump through hoops at the one in Cebu. She got there at 7am and didn't get the certificate until about 7pm. What a day

I have some friends who got their yellow certificate last Oct. 5 at PDOS office in front of De La Salle Univ and asked them to go back when they have their visa so they can get their green certificate and the stamping. As I have read the pinay's experiences here and my friend's experience, I can say I had a smooth experience in CFO. I attended my CFO seminar last May coz I need to have the certificate for the DFA to issue me a passport. They just asked me for my birth and marriage certificate, NBI and some valid id's. I went there 10 am and got both my blue and green certificate by 2 since they had their lunch break thing. They let us watch a film showing some pinays being battered by their foreign husbands, we undergone both panel and one on one interview. I was shocked that they asked my husband's divorce paper, thank God I brought it with me and don't need to go back. They just advice me to go back there when I have my visa for the stamping. :)

I went directly to the CFO website and read the criteria on what to bring. The links are within my signature block. You may also consider calling them just to verify what is acceptable as a secondary measure. If you are still having difficulty, then PM me...

When I pay the P250 fee, picture is included there since they shot it using a pc cam and the books they gave me is for free. I pay another P400 for the green certificate. How much did she pay for the picture and the books?
