hi

Hey guys please mention Case number in subject line.. the format of sending the emails is same as we send to NVC. You can also send an email to VFS mumbai... They might respond to you... Mumbai Embassy is one of the Top 3 busiest Embassies in the world and also is New Delhi.

SO i guess they are not getting time to reply. keep Trying

well for me the experience was different..

They replied to all my queries on email on the same id posted above.

Do mention your case number in subject and also in the email.

Its very difficult to reach them on phone but email is one of the best ways to communicate with them..thats my opinion.

I comuunicated with them in July 2006, dont know if the scenario is different now.

All The Best!!

Always mention your case number in the subject line of the email and also in the body of the email. They do respond, though it takes about a week to get to your email. However, if your question is of general nature and already answered on their website, you may not get a quick answer.

If you are trying to confirm if they received your file or not, email is a good option. They do reply.

Our initial inquiries to the Mumbai embassy were answered in a series of back and forth emails which were at times taking a mere hour to receive a reply. We were quite impressed.

Alas, our subsequent questions (such as confirmation that one can collect one's passport following IV approval the same evening in VFS Mumbai) have gone unanswered. Sigh.

Of course, in my case they may not have answered because apparently this information is available elsewhere. In this case the VFS website, which says,

You can collect your passport at the US Visa Application Centre located in the city where you were interviewed.

Your passport will be held for collection across-the-counter on the day it is received back from the visa section.

Passport will be handed over between 1700 To 1800 hrs. If not collected, it will be dispatched by courier.

To find out whether your passport has been received from the visa section, go to the tracking screen or SMS “US<space>Visa<space> [passport number]” to 57333.

You will need to show the original VFS' service charge receipt and the interview appointment letter.

Typically, it took them 1 night (i.e., I would email them during the day, they would email me back overnight). When you get that autoresponse from them, read it carefully. There's a part in there that says if you really need help, reply back to them with a specific string in the subject. And always include your BMB number when emailing.
