Thanks everyone for your comments and ideas. They have been very helpful. I have another question. Several people recommended, because of the quick trun around between the divorce and the filing of the petition, that I make a well documented visit to my fiance after the divorce is final. Would it be best to make the trip after the divorce, but before I file the petition or before the interview at the consulate? I would perfer to file the petition and then make the trip. What do you think?

Seems to me that if you file the petition before going on the trip, then you lose the benefit of going on the trip, at least where USCIS is concerned. That is, you can't document the trip on your initial petition if you haven't gone on it yet. Although I suppose you could use the purchase of the reservations as evidence of an ongoing relationship.

I don't know if the advice to go on another trip is good advice or not (I'm still pretty new to this game too) but if you decide that it is good advice then you should probably go before you file.
