Funny how Australians have the lowest unemployment rate in comparison to any English speaking nation. Lol Their poverty must be the reason so many from the UK are moving and traveling there hey ;)

Lets not even start to compare it aesthetically. Or in terms of living standards. The poms cannot apply quick enough for Aussie Visa's.. The irony of that hey..

The difference between the US and Australia in July 07 is 0.3% (4.6% vs 4.3%)

I know your homesick, but try not to get so carried away. We've already covered the Australian brain drain.

Carried away. Lets go to the UK and ask where would you like to live LA or Sydney.. What do you think the answer will be??

BRITISH travellers find Paris's Eiffel Tower and Egypt's pyramids a bore and much prefer to flock to some of Australia's top tourist spots, a survey has found.

Get over LA. The city is a shithole..

Thank you Robin. I posted the same numbers yesterday but he chose to ignore it.

Are you guys are angry because you could not get a visa to Australia??

PS Funny how the both of you are in the two ugliest and shitest cities in America hey..

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Why do you keep bringing the poverty argument into a thread that has nothing to do with it. In the context the original argument was made in (i.e. where you were scoffing at economic factors as being the root cause of social inequalities)- the argument was very clear. 'Poverty' has little to do with unemployment, other than being an end result.

Get over LA. The city is a shithole..

Where in LA did you go to make that assessment?

Pleeeeeeeease LA attracts wankers. Even those friends of mine, from Aus, who where wankers moved to LA. Compare Sydney, Melbourne, Gold Coast or Perth to LA..

Again where did you go in LA to make that assessment?

If you can't answer that question - your comments on the subject would seem to be extraordinarily arrogant.

I imagine many people would move to California IF it was possible; however you can't just move

to the US - unlike Canada or Australia.

We want to move back to the west coast, and will if the wife's promotion comes through. I liked LA personally - though my preference would be for somewhere like Portland or Seattle.

You must be joking right? That people are moving to Canada and Aus, who have a more stringent points based immigration policy, because they cannot get into the US.

Actually for a professional, it's probably a lot easier to get into Canada or Oz on the points system than get an H-1 visa. You can also get a visa for both countries as an unmarried partner, which you can't do in the US
