I was issued a 221(g) after my interview, and I submitted the requested documents. In late November, I was asked to complete a medical exam and submit my passport because the medical exam I had done earlier had expired.

On December 17 (about two weeks later), my case status changed from Refused to Ready. Since then, the “last updated” date keeps changing, but the status still shows Ready.

Has anyone had a similar experience? What was the outcome?

Perfectly normal, it was right before the holiday season so just waiting for it to the get to the top of the pile and somebody to look at it.

Just a case of waiting I'm afraid.

If the ‘Last updated’ date keeps changing, doesn’t that mean someone is opening the file? It has changed four times in last two weeks.

It means somebody is doing something. But it could just be an admin person scanning it ready to be looked at. Or somebody that's gone on vacation passing it over to a colleague's pile. Etc, etc.

So it means it's in process, but still nothing to do but wait for them to look at it, do any final checks, and then issue the visa.
