What should be evidence checklist to be taken, for n-400 and I-751 combo interview?

I have uploaded all tax returns, lease agreements, marriage certificate and kids birth certificate on my n-400 application. I have uploaded all bonafide marriage evidence in the I-751 case through online account as well.

All marriage evidence since filing I-751 or since wedding date is required for the interview?

If you want to be super prepared, yes, all evidence since wedding date.

The most important docs are though your passports, birth certificates of children, marriage certificate, IDs of you and your spouse with matching address. Plus tax return transcripts. This is the minimum

I brought about 500 pages of evidence for my N-400 under 5 year rule. Thankfully, didn't need any of it. But nobody can predict what officer will ask for, so the more you have, the smoother it will go. From phychological perspective, by bringing tons of evidence you're demonstrating you can prove your case no matter what IO throws at you. Many IOs don't even bother asking seeing you're very prepared.

@OldUser How did you organize all the documents - like how did you separate different type of document copies and what folder did you take? Did they ask you any original documents?

@ramr I got cheap folders on Amazon. Black and Blue.

Black contained all original documents, such as birth certificates, naturalization cert, passports. Anything I expect to get back.

Blue folders (there were a lot more of them) contained docs and evidence I could just give away as I had digital copies and could produce more easily.

Within folders I used small sticky note flags / tabs (also available on Amazon and in many store with stationary even Walgreens).

Those little sticky notes had abbreviations written by me such as:

BC - birth certificate

WBC - wife's birth certificate

NC - naturalization certificate

WNC - wife's naturalization cert

I think you get the idea?

These little stickers would be placed one after other in a row, so if I open folder I can see instantly what I need go get.

The folders themselves would have one or those stickers on outside telling the contents of folder, such as:

- Originals

- Utilities

- Banks

- Taxes

- Receipts

- House

- Photos

For bank statements and utilities, those little stickers would have years written on them: 2025, 2024, 2023 etc so I could find easily any particular year.

This is what worked for me, but you can adjust as you need for yourself.

Originals that I was asked to present:

- Passports from other 2 nationalities I had

- Drivers license for myself (it was 5 year rule interview)

- Green Card

 That's it

Bear in mind, I kept old passports in folder just in case, but was never asked for old ones.

Good luck!

@OldUser Thank you! Black and blue folders with sticky notes would be great to easily take out the documents when they ask. I will do the same.

I thought it's under 3 years rule right? Because you can apply for N-400 under 3 years rule with I-751 pending. What is your field office?

I applied my I-751 Oct 2023 and N-400 Oct 2024. I haven't received any updates on both of them just still processing status!
