Am i right?

My fiancé is now back in US, from a 2-week vacation here with me in Phils.

As he collected his mails from post office, we got a letter from USCIS & NVC.

The one from the USCIS is the hardcopy of NOA2. My fiancé called USCIS before his vacation to request another copy of NOA2 because we didn’t receive any of it since the day they informed us for approval last June 20.

Second letter is from NVC, which is quite confusing. According to my fiancé there was no direct statement on that letter if our paper already left the NVC. I’m trying to update my timeline, so we will have an idea when would be the right time to follow-up.

Can any of you check if I made a right interpretation with these update.

July 12, 2007 – A mail was send to my fiancé informing him…

"....your fiance will soon receive a packet with instruction from the consular

section on how to apply for K1 VISA AT THAT POST AND WHAT DOCUMENTS WILL BE REQUIRED."

July 19,2007 – We received an email notification from NVC with our new Manila Case

Number. The email says that...

"This petition is now eligible for further processing. The petitioner, beneficiary, and/or attorney of record will receive further instructions regarding the processing of this petition."

Our interpretation is that NVC is considering July 12 as the formal date of our paper’s arrival in their office. While July 19, is the date that it left the NVC office.

It sure sounds like you are approved to me and your petition is on its way to Manila or maybe is already there. You can probably check the immigration timeline stats to determine the wait time now that the petition is in the hands of the embassy

My fiance is calling DOS for almost everyday since he arrived in US..still, we didnt get our schedule..

im just updating our timeline, thats why im double checking if my interpretation was right with this update..

According to the timeline stats there is about a 100 days between the approval and Manila actually doing the interview. This might be skewed a bit because it was about 60 days when we went through. Good luck

for most of the applicants, they usually get medical/interview shedule after 4 weeks (average) from the date ther papers left the NVC.

for our case, if the July 19 is the date that our paper left the NVC office, most probably we're going to hear update by 2nd-3rd week of august..

this is IF july 19 is the date....

This is a major improvement from months past. Maybe Manila has cut back on processing employment visas Claudeth and I wish you the best.

My fiance called NVC today & they confirmed that our papers left its office yesterday - Aug 8.

I really dont know what to say to this DELAY..they receive our paper July 12 & it only left it Aug 8..Almost a month!!!!

Usually NV holds paper for 4-7 days, it just mean that they really had a serious problem there...

Thats good news, that finally your petition has left the NVC.

Through experience, call DOS after 2 weeks from August 8 to confirm if your petition has been received by the USEM. After you get this confirmation , wait for 3 weeks to 1 month and call DOS again to inquire if you already have a medical and interview date. DOS is really helpful in giving advance information. My fiancee received her packet 4 August 2 but 2nd week of July we already knew our medical and interview date thru DOS. Goodluck. You will be here soon to join your fiace.
