C1/D Visa stuck on application received for 40 days

Good morning everyone.

I was just wondering if someone else had any issues similar to mine. My fiance and I were hired as musicians in a cruise ship. We applied for the C1/D visa and did the interview on October 2th. The status of the visa was "approved" for almost a full month, after that it changed to Application received, we contacted the consulate and sent additional documents and they upgraded the case on November 7. After that there was no more upgrades and the only info we get is that the case is being process. We are very anxious because we will start the job on December 3 and I don't think there's anything more we can do. Anyway, just trying to keep ourselves calm.
