EB2 NIW Civil Document

Hello,

I got my I-140 approved on March and I already paid my IV. I submitted my Civil Document on April 30 and got response from NVC saying, "NVC will not review these documents until we receive the required civil documents for each intending immigrant.". I think I submitted all required Civil Document but I think there might be some error so hope you can help me on this topic.

The way I submitted my Civil Document for me and my family was:

  • Used only 1 Document Cover Letter for me and my family. Do I need to use separate Document Cover Letter for me and my family?
  • Photocopies are in b/w. Do I need to submit color photocopies?
  • Police certificate only submitted translation. Do I need to submit original (non-English) police certificate?
  • If some documents were in English and did not require translation, do I need to explain this?

If anybody got response from NVC stating problems in Civil Document, would greatly appreciate if they can provide their experience and how they solved it.

Thanks,

SJoshi

One cover sheet is fine (that’s what I did and got DQ’ed).

Yes, you needed to include the police cert (a copy of it, not the original) as well as the translation. You said ‘police certificate’ (singular) but also mention a family - did you submit certs for everybody over 16?

And this page says colour copies - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-1-submit-a-petition/step-2-begin-nvc-processing/scanning-and-uploading-tips.html/

If you give a list of everything you submitted, forum members can check it for you.

Yes, I got police certifications for me and my wife. I submitted DS-260 about 2 weeks before mailing Civil Documents. Wondering if it’s b/w problem or I printed on both sides of the paper or they simply did not receive my Civil Documents on time.

You said you didn’t include your police cert though (only the translation of it).

You should get an RFI for anything missing but I’d send it off asap anyway personally.
