Hi - my visa status is 'Issued' (on Monday) so it should be on its way. I'm told it take a few days. Will keep you posted.

Oh wow, so you did your interview last Wed and you haven’t received it by now (Wed)? Seems Iike it’s taking more than a week 😅 Maybe it does take some time!

They say to allow up to 2 weeks. It's usually much quicker though, I had my interview on a Monday afternoon and passport back in hand with visa on Thursday morning. But you definitely need to allow longer, and don't book anything until you actually have the visa, just in case you're put in to AP.

Thanks for sharing - what is AP btw?

Admin Processing. It's something everybody has to go through, but is usually just a day or two for final checks after the interview and before the visa is issued. My status was only Admin Processing for about 2 hours before it changed to issued so it was super quick.

But for some people they're put in to 'proper' AP which is more extensive background checks. Very unusual for somebody from the UK though (common for those from high risk countries) so shouldn't be an issue unless you're in an occupation on the TAL list (another common reason for it). But I certainly wouldn't book a non refundable flight or give notice on anything until that visa is in hand just in case - 'proper' AP can take months or even years.

They usually send them out once a month, cut off date varies as it depends on how many cases they have to schedule.

But cases are usually only transferred once they've been scheduled, are you sure it's at London already? What does the online status say?

I got the approval today that his processing embassy has been changed to the US embassy London today. the online status says NVC right now.

Ah, I see, I thought you meant the case had been transferred there ready for interview. The status will change to 'in transit' when it's on the way there (after the interview is scheduled). Hopefully it won't be too long, I'd guess you'll get the IL next month? But that is just a guess.

Good luck.

Hi everyone,

My PD becomes current in June. I intend to transfer my case from Lagos, Nigeria to London UK as I am now a legal resident of the UK. I used an attorney for my EB2-NIW application and I'm wondering if I still need an attorney for the IV application and interview process. The attorney fee is quite much for a family of six. Please advise me.

Thanks for your guidance.

IMO, definitely not needed for the visa part of the process unless you have complicated circumstances. Just follow the step by step guide very carefully and you should be fine.  https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-1-submit-a-petition/step-2-begin-nvc-processing.html

Be prepared to be put in to AP if you're from Nigeria. And please do fill your timeline in when you've got a few minutes spare, thanks.

Best of luck.
