Hello everyone

I am travelling to US on Monday and will be staying for two weeks. What I wanted to ask, will they still send my GC to the suggested address even if I exited the US after two weeks?

@appleblossom

AFAIK, yes they will. But make sure you have somebody there to receive it - often UPS won't leave it in an unattended mailbox.

Do you know what would be the best option to update the address of delivery. In the package received by embassy it says i can do this in port of entry

The package received by embassy? Just checking you don't mean the white envelope that isn't to be opened??

But yes, you can - the immi officer that processed us asked us for the address, but we also took it typed up on a piece of paper just in case.

Like DOlibash, I am also travelling to Boston in 2 weeks time and only for 4 days. Can I ask them to change the address for GC delivery to some address in Texas (different from port of entry). Currently I gave address of my friend in Boston, but he will be away for 2-3 wekks in May. I am not sure if it will clash the time for GC delivery. So, i want to change address to Texas. Will that be okay?

Yep, absolutely fine. We had a hotel address on our DS-260 as we had no idea where we'd be living, we only knew where we'd be for the first 10 days. But when we entered we'd signed a rental contract, so then updated the address with the border officer and our SSN's and GC's came to that address.

And welcome in advance to Boston! It's a fabulous city, we're really enjoying it here.

As @appleblossom stated, my PD is not current yet, I am keen in understanding how long it takes after one becomes current to get that interview in London.

I am hoping my PD will be current soon, I only have 5 days to go (My PD is 01/20/23 and as per the May 2024 bulletin cutoff date for EB2 is 01/15/24)

I have seen usually a month after the IL is received since there is little to no backlog in the London Embasssy, but I have not seen anyone get interviews recently, hence my question around if anyone has gotten any inteviews for this month?

People have, but only spousal visas that I know of. Once you become current then you should get an IL in a month or so.

Unfortunately I don't see the VB moving much anytime soon, DoS did say there would be 'very little to no forward movement' for employment based categories in the coming months. Hopefully it will move 'very little' but just enough for you though! Good luck.

That is what I am hoping for, that "very little" movement :D

Thanks for your constant feedback and positive words.

It may just be enough - fingers crossed! Hope June's VB brings the date you're hoping for.
