B1 visa while waiting for k1

I'm getting the papers together and we want to try to get a B2 visa while we wait. Does anyone know if there is a problem with doing this? I don't want one visa to mess up the other.

It won't affect the K1 petition in any way, but keep in mind that tourist visas in Mexico are extremely difficult to get. In addition, depending on where you are applying, it could take months for an appointment and it's a 4 week wait after a visa is approved to actually get it.

Yeah, it's really hard, already got rejected once. Hopefully owning land this time will help. We already have her appt. date and everything, I just didnt want to go through with that if it would f up the K1. Is Juarez the only place to go for the K1 interview? Alot of people talk about it, but its pretty far away, Mexico City is alot closer.

CDJ is the only consulate in Mexico that processes K1s. Sucks for the DF crowd and just about anyone who lives far away, but no choice there.
