Uploading docs to NVC/ceac after DQ

We have an interview scheduled in October. I wanted to upload a new version of the police certificate before the interview, as it will have been over a year since the previous one was issued.

To my dismay, the "Upload Documents" button in the NVC/ceac system does nothing. Basically, uploading does not seem to be allowed.

 

Does anybody have an idea/clue as to what to do?

I know people had to upload stuff there after the interview. Does it mean we have to wait for the document to be requested by the embassy?

Hello Zoothie.
You could submit then as Optional Documents. 
Go to CEAC, Civil Documentns and there you click the “Add A Document” link. It will display a form where you can pick your new police certificate. Once it's ready, don't forget to click the “Submit Documents” button.
