I-551 Passport Stamp Expiring in October and an Interview Reschedule Request - Questions

Hi everyone,

 

I filed a I-751 with a waiver back in December 2019, had my interview scheduled for January 2022, but unfortunately had to call and request to reschedule as it was 2 days after a trip and I got sick. I am planning to travel to my home country in a couple of weeks as I have not been back since I moved to the US and I wanted to ask those of you who have some experience/knowledge on the process a few questions:

 

1. I called to reschedule my interview the day before and received a confirmation email that the request was approved. When I go to Check Case Status, however, I see the following wording:

 

"Interview Cancelled And Notice Ordered
On January 12, 2022, we cancelled your interview for your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number **, and mailed you a cancellation notice. We will notify you by mail if the appointment is rescheduled, a decision is made, or if we need something from you. Please follow any instructions in the notice."

 

Do you know if this is what it's supposed to say in the event of a request to reschedule? I never received a cancellation notice either - all they did was mail me the initial I-751 NOA I received back in 2020 when I first filed my case.

 

2. I have a temporary I-551 stamp in my passport that expires in October. My question is, will I be allowed to enter the US if the stamp expires in under 6 months (in this case - under 2 months)? I am planning to come back in early September and I'm wondering if I need to call and schedule an info pass appointment for a new stamp.

 

3. I saw on here some folks were warning others against requesting a second interview reschedule - are there any repercussions for this? As far as I know the only one is potentially having to wait much longer for a new date, but I could be missing something. With USCIS wait times being so long and them sending somewhat short notices for interviews, I feel like it's always a gamble making any travel plans but I have not been back home for 6 years partially because of this and feel like it's about time I prioritized seeing family and friends.

 

4. One last thing - I saw someone on here mentioned that you need to have entered the United States at least 14 days prior to appearing to your interview appointment - I'm curious if this is officially stated somewhere on the website or the interview notice as it's definitely important to keep in mind.
