Just curious to know ...

Why does the I 134 need notarisation but the I 864 does'nt...??

The I 134 anyways looses its significance once the alien in granted the K 1/K3 and enters the US.

The I-864 has a binding for a longer period of time - 10 yrs to be precise and in the USA..!!

Further...

the tax returns (1040s) that we send as a support for I 864 is a plain photocopy of the returns prepared by the tax payer, sponsor for our case.

Why dont they need us to send an evidence for having really filed the copies..??

Well, the transcripts are an evidence but the copies of 1040s are as a rule acceptable.

Lot of us here just send in the 1040s for the 3 yrs when we dont have the transripts available with us.

why so?

Am i thinking and racking my brains too much on it...

Would like to know still....

divs,

The I-864 did have to be notarized up until not too long ago. Maybe the requirement will one day be dropped for the I-134 as well, but the USCIS probably doesn't put much thought into it - although they are the 'owner' of I-134, the USCIS doesn't use it anymore. For the USCIS it's just excess baggage.

There are 6 ways for the obligation of the I-864 to end, and the passage of 10 years time is not one of them. Hardly very precise.

divs,

My reason for the 2nd part of my post is that you gave incorrect information. Many people have the same understanding that you do, but it is an incorrect understanding.

Read I-864 and its' instructions - you will find the events that end the obligation. What you will not find are the words "ten years".

Thanks for the info..

Could you also provide a reason for the second part of the post?
