Hello, my wife needed to come back to Mexico for health reasons. December 17th will make 180 days of her visit. We're planning on going back but just for a week or so and then coming back to Mexico. I've been researching and I'd qualify for an N470 as a missionary. The n470 would allow her to apply for citizenship from within Mexico and looks like our best solution.

The only problem I'm seeing so far is that we must apply for a re-entry permit along with the N470. The N470 states: "Religious Workers Exception to the One Year Absence Requirement
Religious workers may apply:
1. Before departing from the United States;
2. After departing from the United States; or
3. After returning to the United States.
Religious workers are not required to have lived in the United States for a specific period of time prior to filing Form
N-470. " However the re-entry permit requires us to be in the US when we apply. Which would make the exemption expressed in the n470 useless unless the re-entry permit has the same allocation. I'd imagine it does but so far I haven't found it.
