Why is the USCIS website useless, and getting worse?

Either their website is incredibly difficult to use, or they are making it more and more useless. Anytime I call to inquire about the status of my case (way behind the vast majority of people here, even the VJ timeline thinks I should have it already) they indicate I can "get the same information on the website". This is just factually not true, also strong recommendation for people to not take the timelines or posts on this website too strongly. People who filed 8 months after us are already getting their card and it can be a real downer.

Their website used to show you at least some content, even though it was still useless. Now their website shows you even less.

Current View: Simply says "We have your case that you filed a year ago"

Old View: Still useless, but shows more information.
