Application for an F1 visa with a still valid B1/B2 visa

Hello everyone,

I have been accepted by an American university, and soon I have to apply for an F1 visa to study.

I have already made two trips to the United States with two visas.

I made the first trip with a B1/B2 visa that expired. Then I renewed this visa without any problems and I left for a second trip. This last B1/B2 visa I have is still valid.

I would like to add that my non-immigrant status has no problem. I have never overstayed or been subject to any sanctions.

For my application for the F1 visa, I have one question (fears) :
If I am refused the F1 visa? what will become of my old visa B1/B2? Will they be able to cancel it?

I would be very happy to have your answers and also to have the experience of people who have searched for a F1 visa with a B1 or B2 visa still valid.

Thank you very much,
God bless you in this pandemic time.
Stay home and stay healthy?

B & F are different classes of visas.

You met the requirements for the B visa and therefore were granted one. You visited the US and departed on time. Great Job !

Make sure that you have all your documents in order for the F visa interview. This includes financial support.

If your F visa gets denied, it should not have an impact on your B visa. This is assuming you did not lie during the interview.
