Hello I’m hoping someone can help me because I cannot find this information anywhere! So basically this is my problem. My fiancé was traveling to come visit me about a month ago he got denied entry to the US on a esta paper because they felt he was coming to long and they were worried he wouldn’t return. They made him sign papers, took his fingerprint and wrote a alien # In his passport. My fiancé was so overwhelmed after all the questioning and not being able to come visit me that he happened to leave the paper the copies of the papers he signed at the airport. After much researching I came to the conclusion that they probably gave him a form I-877 and basically proof of the incident that occurred. My fiancé’s interview is taking place in bogota Colombia and I can’t find any information if this form or proof of what occurred that day will need to be brought to the interview? I emailed the embassy and they didn’t even answer my question.... now if I need this form I need to create a FOIA request but my other question is if I create a FOIA request for his records will this create a red flag in the system and effect the K1 visa in anyway? Also should I even do that??? I’m not even sure if he needs proof of this incident at the interview. I know on the ds160 it will ask if he has ever been denied entry in which we will answer yes of course... but does anyone have any experience in filing a foia request?? And if I even need proof of this incident for the interview. On the embassy website for bogota it doesn’t mention any of this.. on some of the other embassy websites it says something along the lines of if you were denied entry please bring forms or proof of incident. So I just really don’t know what to do. Can someone give their input ?
