Hi,

I know this has been asked before but I can't find it.

we just received the checklist from Vancovuer consulate for our K3 visa.

our case has been approved at NVC since late April for CR1.

Just wondering if you think we should go ahead with K3 at this point or just leave it and wait for Montreal.

If I do the medical exam, (as per checklist) do I have to do another one when I go to Montreal?

thanks for your help and good luck to all

Tough one <_< . I would continue with Vancouver if this reunites you sooner - or wait for MTL if you are together and this way you avoid the whole AOS mess. But that's my uneducated and evening caffeinated guess... wisdom, anyone???? I wonder if one excludes the other altogether - I am not sure.

Hi Kaftar,

I am not sure, but I wonder if you can send in your packet 3, and then decide to not interview and wait it out in MTL? (Keep both going)...

I heard from NVC that they schedule MTL CR1/IR1 interviews around June 15th, so perhaps you can wait it out for a couple more days and call to see if you have an interview in Montreal and then decide?

All the best!

if it were me I would stick with the CR1.. it might take you a little longer but then you would avoid the fee increase of the AOS...

I'm with Marilyn on this. The CR1 comes with the green card...no AOS, EAD, and the increased fees. That would be the huge plus if we were going through this again. :)

I'm with Marilyn and Karen on this too. Stick it out and go with the CR-1. It will take longer but you'll avoid the mess of AOS, not to mention the "new and improved" fees.

Go with the CR-1. Your case is already complete and will only be a month or 2 before you get an interview in Montreal.

NVC schedules with the consulates around the 15th of each month so you might get a pleasant surprise with an interview date. :)

As for the medical, I think I might wait unless you have something from NVC with your CR-1 case number on it. Call the doctor and see if you can use that. Your NVC case number for your K3 and your CR-1 are different. Montreal is... well, not the greatest to deal with so if I were you, I would make sure that my medical had the CR-1 case number on it.
