I’ve been in the US the last 6 years and had instant embassy approvals at my two interviews, this was an extension interview. I assumed should be pretty straight forward, I assumed wrong. I always brought my police certificate that did note an old offense it was never a problem as not CMIT and I was approved both times on the spot after briefly discussing it

interestingly now it is over 13 years old the new police certificate I ordered for this extension interview said ”no live trace” as it has been stepped down a few years ago.

I assumed this would be an easy approval based on 13 years of good behavior and 6 continuous years of living and working in the US. The arrest was for minor criminal damage. I left the USA 8 days ago with one suitcase. I have a house with all my belongings in , months full of employment and financial obligations in the US as well as many other commitments. I had not been back to the UK since last Christmas. The CO did say because I had been arrested it concerned him issued the paperwork and told me to send in the statement of consent to ACRO as well

as clarifying the underlying convictions.

I’m now in a horrible state of flux and panic. I’ve had to cancel a bunch of client meetings. Draft in help from another office to support my team and tell my boss that I have a delay. I’ve bounced around some hotels and I am working Through the night stressed to the hill.

I hope this all has a happy ending, what a horrible week. Any idea what kind of timelines I can expect?

Also to note my passport was returned and my L1-A has a stamp on it says “cancelled without prejudice”. I got the documents over to them within 48 hours last week.
