ds 260 employment

Hi,

a search for my question did not deliver satisfactory results.

Filling out the DS-260 employment section:

I have been employed by the same place for 16 years. I have filled in the details. There is NOT an option to fill in the start date.

When I go the the next page, there is an option for previous employment and when clicked it asks for all employers starting from the most recent. (and for the last 10 years). There I can see it can be filled out with start and end date.

Should I fill this out? I do NOT have an end date, but it will cover the 10 year requirement. The current employment page, does not have a date option so thus cannot fulfil the proof of 10 year requirement.

Or should I merely fill in the current employment, and click NO for previous employment? (there is no printed information indicating a 10 year requirement under the current employment, but there is for previous employment)

thank you

I figured I will answer my own post:

i will toss a coin on two options:

1. only fill in current job section, and NOT click previous jobs. (and provide an employer letter saying I have been there 16 years.

or

2. fill in current job, AND click yes to previous jobs, and fill in my current job there too, with a start date, and an end date of the current date (since one can not pick a date in the future or write "present"), AND provide a letter from employer to prove i did not quit.

thats it.

I ended up putting the same information.

Although I am still employed there; I put the current date, as the form asks for an end date.

I then uploaded a letter of employment to the other documents folder as proof of employment and length of time I have been employed. Shows I have been there over 16yrs.

I submitted the ds260. So we will see what NVC/ interview officer says.

Logically, I do not anticipate a problem as it iserely a duplication.
