DOT Log Books

Has anyone sucessfully used DOT log books as evidence of meeting. I know it seems like an odd question with my fiances country of citizenship being the UK, but he has been driving a truck in Canada, which led him to me. lol. Since he has a visa to cross the border in the truck I don't think that they stamped his passport and flying is way expensive, so we don't have any boarding passes.

We aren't sure if they will accept a simple border crossing and the log books. anyway. If you have any other tips please send them my way. I am already starting to worry about everything, and we haven't even started to file yet.

Here is another of my posts. To give you a bit of insight as to what our situation is. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=71120&st=0&p=953997entry953997

Thank you in advance for your help

I was in the same boat as you. My husband being Canadian and a crossborder truck driver. I wrote a long note saying that hubby (at time finacee) had a dedicated run and ran to where i live twice a week for company ABC crossing at the port of Pembina/Emerson and gave them his truck number. I then explained that between dropping a load and picking up the next load we went on "dates". Even though this was for immigrating to Canada they did except my long letter explaing a truckers life. Giving copies of his log books might not be a bad idea either and they do have ways of finding out if those crossing are correct.

We had very little "hard" evidence of us meeting face to face... just a couple pictures really, and a letter saying the dates and such that we had been to see each other... we had absolutely no problems...

ETA that I am from Ontario, and he is from Michigan...

not approved yet, but I don't expect to have much of an issue with that-of course we've been married 3.5 years and I immigrated to Canada already. Anyway, a lot of us just drive across the border and usually don't get any official proof of that crossing. If you're really worried maybe you could show some gas reciepts or pics of the 2 of you together.

ps. you're the only other person that I've seen on here from Wyo-Carol in Enzi's office is really helpful if you need a senator's help to kick some CIS ###

met summer 1999, summer 2000 hooked up-whoo hoo summer fling

summer fling failed to fizzle, married 2003

I-130 mailed 12/15/03

4/1/04 no word from NE contacted senators office, app found

NOA1 4/13/04

Gave up on ridiculously long US process-started Canadian

12/4/04 submitted app

LSS app returned because of missed signatures, lost in transit, resubmitted in June

9/28/05 landed, yippie

10/4/05 fly back to US to "finish up Master's" lose mind and switch to PhD

Damn it back to the US process

3/something/2005 finally get NOA2, no idea why it took so long

4/15/07 get case approval from NVC

8/9/07 Montreal here we come

10/14/07 hubby activated his visa

My husband ran Winnipeg Chicago twice weekly. What I also did is I had friends and my parents write letters too stating that we were together those two times a week. I also kept dinner receipts and stuff like that. Didn't realize there was that many of us Trucker's Wives!
