JaynLainey,

Joint Sponsor is a term you will find in the INA, co-sponsor is a term you will find on VJ.

In immigration terms, a person who lives in the same household is a Household Member. Your mother-in-law does not fit the definition of a Household Member, she could be a Joint Sponsor.

is joint sponsor the same with co sponsor? what forms are needed to fill up? does the co sponsor needs to live within the same household? my mother in law who lives in the other state will be our co sponsor. is it ok? we used her as a co sponsor during our K1 visa process.
