Does an AOS EAD supersede an F-1 OPT EAD?

We just got notice that my wife's EAD card is in production. She's currently on her F-1 OPT EAD (which expires next month), which means that she is not subject to social security/medicare taxes.

 

Once she receives her AOS EAD in the mail, does that effectively end her F-1 OPT status? i.e., will she have to let her HR/accounting department know that they must begin adding social security/medicare taxes back to her paychecks?

 

Or does that transition happen at the expiration of her F-1 OPT period?

^^This. Both EADs will be valid.
