previously detained, Adjustment of Status question

I am recently married to a US citizen I met while visiting and we are applying to adjust my status.

We went on a roadtrip where we my driver was pulled over for a broken tail light.

  • The officer said the car smelled of marijuana

  • Cop detained (cuffed) the driver and all passengers to search car

  • Cop subsequently found marijuana (not mine.. legally purchased in nearby state) but let all passengers go but

  • Cop charged 1 other passenger who admitted to possession and for disorderly conduct for acting rude

  • Police report of the person who was arrested indicated I was a) detained and rude as I asked for a warrant and to speak to my lawyer but not charged b) report indicated i was given a verbal disorderly conduct warning

Questions...

  1. I instead on answering I was detained, but will this complicate or prevent my ability to adjust status?

  2. In the past when I was a teen (~10 years ago) I was denied entry to US from Canada because I didn't bring enough supporting evidence of my ties to Canada upon entry.. will this complicate things as well?
