Hello,

My wife is petitioning to bring her parent's over.  The US consulate in China told her mother that she needs to list her parent's info in the biographic part of the DS-260 form.  FYI, she originally left this as Did Not Know because they were already deceased.    However, the DS-260 was submitted over a month and half ago and will not allow any new changes.

Should her mom call the US consulate in China?  Will she be allowed to update her parent's info while at the interview?

Her mother attended the US Consulate in China and the Consular officer told her mother to list her parent in DS-260?

No the US consulate in China called her mother that the changes needed to be done on the DS-260.

In that case, she should call the US Consulate in China to ask them how to change it.

Because after DS-260 submitted, no one else can edit it except the Consular officer in the interview.

Maybe they will allow her to change it in the interview.

So she should print the info and bring it to the interview so the Consular officer can edit it based on her paper.

When is her interview date?

Its Aug 16.

So her interview was scheduled.

The Consulate called her just to notify that she should complete the missing info, so she can prepare it before the interview.

She should print the missing info into a paper and bring it to the interview. The Consular officer will look at it and edit DS-260 for her.

They may ask her why she did not write that info, just explain honestly and they will help her to edit it.
