An interview at the local office for petitioner of alien relative, is this new?

Hello everyone, I am a US citizen and I filed forms I-130 for my children overseas 3 years ago. 

The youngest got here 3 months ago and I received some interview notices to go to the local offices where the petitions were transferred and 

to take with me proof of Bona Fide relationships. Is this new? Has anyone been called for an interview after petitioning for adult children over 21?

i am aware that they require more evidence as I did with my youngest because the birth certificates back home were delayed.
