Mahalo,

Aloha Bill and Joan, I think the barcode needed on the DS 156 is the 1 you need to fill up online to generate a barcode, so instead of using the DS 156 forms that the embassy sent, you can go on line and fill it up. Here's the link for that http://usembassy.state.gov/manila/wwwhivk1.html

thats where I got mine done.

I heard that having NO2 is good enough if you havent got the packet from the embassy yet<somebody pls correct me if Im wrong>, they will let you have your medical and they'll give you your packet if you'll call them ahead of time and ask that you'll just pick the packet in their clinic.

Gracy_byron is right, u can generate a DS 156 with barcode using that link.

When i havent got my packet 4, I called the SLEC if i can have an early medical without appointment letter, she said as long as i have a copy of NOA2 and copy of interview and medical appointment thru checking online, try this link too...( http://203.177.135.10/ivappointment/login.asp) it will be fine, she also said that I can get my packet 4 at St. lukes if i requested for it, but then the next day after that call i got my packet 4 via DHL...hope our info could help u, good luck!
