I know this is a bit old of a thread but when is/was the party and what did you decide to/go with doing? :)

Interesting...this was a weird birthday this year. Her birthday was May 18. Joel and I had just found out that our sweet girl has epilepsy the day before so we were still a bit shocked with it all and wasn't sure what to do since the medication she's on makes her sooooo tired. I guess it's a good thing we hadn't planned anything major. We decided to forego the party thing since she's getting used to the meds. We did, however, get a cake and candles, lots of gifts, and took her to see Shrek the Third. She had a great time with just us and it just affirmed to us that we have the most incredible child. :luv:

Awww man...Karen that's the pits. (about her being diagnosed with epilepsy)

Sounds like she still had a wonderful birthday and I'm not surpised that she's an incredible child - look who her Mom is. ;)

And Karen....if you have a need to speak with someone who has experience...my oldest daughter (now 24) has epilepsy as well.

She was diagnosed just before she turned 15 when she just started having grand mal seizures outta the blue. Those meds can really wear them out until their bodies adjust to them. Fawn went thru 3 different meds before they finally found one that kept the seizures under control and side effects to a minimum.

Anyway, I'm rambling - feel free to PM or email me if you like, ok? I know it isn't an easy time for you either.
