Hello,

I filled in and completed my DS-160 form on the 18th April after having received an e-mail to say my immigration visa case has been expedited, but it's still showing my status as 'not ready'. I haven't received any sort of letter from the embassy yet either. Is it normal to wait this long? Should I be booking my medical yet? This whole thing is confusing me so much.

Yes usually you should fill in the ds-160 after the embassy has received your case that's why it's says not ready. After they've received it you'll get sent packet 3 (i got mine the day later). you can track you're case on ceac on the immigrant section and you'll see when it arrives. You can book your medical as soon as you have your case number 😊

Thank you for your reply.
I'm still a bit confused, unfortunately. I recieved the email on the 12th of April saying that the embassy in London has approved my request for expedited processing of my immigrant visa application and gave me a Case ID / NVC Case Number and also told me to fill in the DS-160 form then. So I completed that on the 18th of April and recieved my application ID. But I've not had any letters through the post at all, or any other sort of communication. Am I right in understanding you mean that it might take a while for my DS-160 to get seen?
Sorry for all the questions. The more I read, the more confused I seem to get.

they won't look at your ds-160 till they receive your case. Yes that's correct you do receive an email stating it's been expedited. But that still takes up to 7 days to get there. So check on ceac.gov , immigrant case tracker, put in your LND case number and when it says it's ready, and not in transit you can then book your interview. You will receive a letter from the embassy stating they have received your case the following day after it gets to london. Make sure you leave at least 10 days between medical and interview.
