AR? HOW DO YOU KNOW IN MANILA

My wife just called me and now I know what it means to have the rug pulled out from under you.

She said that even though they handed her a pink slip saying she passed her interview, she was also handed another slip saying not to do anything until we hear from them again at the embassy. The paper i guess says that our case requires further review before a Visa can be granted.

Does this mean then that we are on AR? Is this the dreaded AR paper that others have spoke of. I have asked her to scan it and send me a copy so i can read it for myself. How do i find out exactly what it is they are speaking of? She obviously does not understand, and I am sitting here with no idea what so ever what is happening. I have no long disatance and use calling cards, and it says if you call the Visa unit a fee is charged. But if I dont hae a long distance carrier, and use cards, then how do i go about calling them. Can some one please help me with these issues? I knew some thing was wrong when it has taken almost two weeks and not being released by the embassy. But how do I know for sure... Please help..!!!

Thanks and God Bless...

Hi,

AR is when they want to check something.....

Security check, or they might want to have NSO send them another copy of your MC or her BC just to make sure you are all legal and stuff. They could also ask NBI for another certificate if yours is older. The point is, that this is VERY common in PI and usually takes 4 to 6 weeks. Sometimes less.

You can call the Embassy at this number which is a normal long distance call (no fee) Try to call around 8:30am their time.

Manila Embassy 011-63-2528-6300 ext 5184 or 5185

Hey be happy and thankful! We were given a 221G (refusal) and I had to find a joint-sponsor. What a headache! We sent Embassy the papers of our new joint-sponsor yesterday. Hopefully we will finally get Lorna's visa in a couple of weeks.

God Bless,

Mike

Hi Randy,

Yes, that white paper means Rose is on AR. The white paper will say something like "wait until you hear from us"? They may asks additional documents, or just check for themselves like requests it directly at NSO (BC, MC), or NBI checks. Just be patient, Rose paid for Delbros so that is a good sign she is approved but just have to wait until they do the background checks. NSO checks usually take 2 weeks (minimum), you and Rose need to be patient.

Their toll number is too expensive. Try to call Lorraine at USEM through tis number: +632-528-6300 local 5184 and ask for more details.

Hope Rose will get her Visa soon. Good Luck!

Do not believe the 4 to 6 week story, that is there pat answer. We had our interview on 03/08/2007 and was told by the last consular everything was great and not problems etc...What a liar a big problem, is when Ivy went to pick up her pink paper and it was a white paper saying pay Delbros and no further information is needed etc.. Never the whole story from the embassy, finally they were checking NSO for her singleness since Ivy has a daughter. According to Richard at NSO the embassy picked up another copy of her CENOMAR on 04/13/07 (why did it take so long for them to order one?)

The next call Lorraine wanted to know how I got the NSO number and how did I know who to talk to? I told her whom I talked to and that he was the embassy co-ordinator and that they pick up their requests every Friday. O.K. so she says not problem and that the case worker has it. Another person in the loop we did not know about. Then for the last few weeks it was the same the case worker has it.

Mean while I fax my senator. Now of course everyone knows they are checking also. I finally called on 04/30/07 PI day and talked with Lorraine again and this talk lasted for about 12 minutes she had to go the to the processing unit because she said the were looking at our paper work, she came back and said that NSO did not give them Ivy's information yet. Why did she not tell me before? To me some one is lying or dropped the ball or what ever. The papers should have been ordered on the following Monday after our interview, there should have been a follow up every 7 days, should the documents not have been received.

In any government agency we have something called accountability, which I feel is real lacking here. When a document switches hands it should be signed and annotated there should always be a paper trail.

Tomorrow I will again make three calls, Senators office, Embassy and NSO.

Richards number at NSO is 632-926-7333

Randy welcome to Administrative Review...I wish you have better lucky than we are.

I will say some prayers for you.

Thanks to all for the replies.

As to your thoughts, it was just the dreaded sheet that has nothing checked on it. It just says further review is required and to bring back the documents requested on the sheet above. But nothing is checked, that is what threw me.

I have heard of AR and not being approved, but did not know that people are put on AR even if they are approved.

Guess I just keep learning here like everyone else. So i guess I can say that VJ is and has been everything I Love about it as well. Always ready to help, and ready to lend a hand. Thank You Very Much, and now hopefully I can get Rose to stop crying as that is all she did after finding out. Now I know how lonely it can feel for those at every hurdle, and not knowing if you will make it over each one. I am going to try and call as soon as the holiday is over there.

I will let everyone know what happens, and the time frame it takes.

God Bless ...and Happy  May Day to all. Now I can celebrate my birthday this week end in thoughts of better days to come. I only hope she is off of AR in time for our Anniversary June 20.

Have A great day folks.

Thank You so very much for the thoughtful response, and kindly words.

Nice to hear when your down, and nice to be noticed as well.

Ever since we found out, it has felt like we have been slipping away, and getting further from the things, and the people I have loved most.

And as that thought goes, yes Happy Birthday To Me :crying:

I had thought this would be an over joyous occasion and celebrating with the others.

But I guess not all in life is at is supposed to be.

My prayers are with all in AR, and all those yet to come home.

God Bless. and Thank You.

Hello Randy,

Happy Birthday to you. Don't worry, I'm sure after couple of weeks they will release your wife's visa. I would suggest to always call the USE for update every week. Usually they give the petitioner more details on the status of the case than the beneficiary calling the toll number.

Hope your wife will get there in time of your 1st anniversary.

I spoke with my beloved congressional folks today, and got exactly what I expected.

They gave me no info, no answers, and no hope.As they put it, "I should learn to be patient and this kind of thing happens and can take some people as many as 2 years. I should sit back and enjoy my life and not worry, and just think that some time in the future she will probably be allowed to come here" and thatw as after calling yesterday to get some lady tell me that we should forget about each other for now cause that is best for both of us, and learn to be patient. Sounds like our politicians talked to the same people I did. Thank You Uncle Sam for making me feel better. So now i am more thankful then you will ever know in hearing replies, and well wishes from you folks. All i can do now is do what I knew they would say...sit back, and hold my breath, and try to survive without losing me, and all I believe in. So i want to thank you folks for your thoughts, and as the weeks pass, I will make an entry counting the weeks, and months as they go. God Bless all of you, and hope to see and hear from you again in the future. I will be here...waiting for my Rose (F)

"Sit back - enjoy life - dont worry...blah blah blah" It's easy for THEM to say that, isn't it?
