Hi All:

advise and suggestion is needed. any one has experience on the name format issue.

My passport and all the K1 visa related forms I filled in, name showing as Zheng Yong Yu. But my china birth certificate and none criminal records showing as ZhengYong Yu. The difference is passport has a space between Zheng and Yong, where my china records (birth certificate and none criminal records) doesn't have the space between Zheng and Yong.

would this cause any trouble? my interview is in 2 weeks time. any advise is needed.

Thanks in advance

I would get birth certificate and non criminal record changed if possible. In China, when you or your parents are at the notarial office, you get a chance to talk to the officers. Normally they are not that difficult to deal with.

Otherwise maybe explain that during your interview. I wonder what is the your name on your previous chinese passport? Maybe bring your old chinese passport with u as well.

hope that helps.

Thank you for your input, my parents already tried today at notarial office in China, and they won't change the format, they said it's the unified way to do it.

But yes, I do have my old China passport and the name format is consistent with my China Birth certificate and non criminal records. fingers crossed it will work.

Thanks again.
